The physics are amazing! I didn't realise they had Barry McGuigan on board. The commentating is very realistic.

That is so realistic, though there is no way a person could stand up to those sorts of punches in real life,

I though Knockout Kings 2001 got it about spot on, shame the franchise went downhill after that, and that fight night has so few fighters.

It does to some extent in FN with the style of the fighter (slugged, slickster, etc).

If they made it too much like real boxing, no-one would buy it and then we'd have no games.

Eubank looks like Devon Malcolm. And they should've modelled Benn on his 'dreads' look. Or when he had that cool quiff.

Why don't they just do what they did with Gran Turismo, and have various settings, 'arcade,' 'intermediate' 'superealistic.'

Boxing is very hard to get right though. You need one hell of a physics engine to allow you to account for everything from one punch knockouts, to fighters absorbing ten punch combinations, and everything in between.

The physics of boxing are so difficult to execute well. One of the major problems with every boxing game I've ever played is that the movement of the fighters is always restricted along one plane, you can't ever work the angles and fight 'around' your opponent. It's too hard a system to create with the control systems.

One thing you could have is a set of boxing boots for the Wii, but you'd need a space the size of a boxing ring to do it properly. You'd orobably end up smashing every stick of furniture in the living room as well.

Initially it was only confirmed for the Xbox 360 and the Nintentdo Wii/DS. Are you sure it has also been confirmed for the PS3?
