What are kids watching these days on CBBC etc?

Who's big in the playground?

What are your kids, nieces, nephews obsessed with who appear on childrens TV?

Any info much appreciated.

Zack and Cody on Disney CH is big, spongebob square pants likewise, and for the younger ones, BBC's The Night Garden is proving to be a massive worldwide hit.

And High school musical is the talk of teeny town.

I have 3yo and 7yo girls who are Bratz mad.

11yo boy who is into wrestling and anything with guns. Watches a lot of those Japanese (not manga) but kids cartoony things with flyins disc and stuff, like a hi-tech versions of pokemon.

But she likes watching Handy Manny with her Dad. The animated story of a Mexican/American odd job man who fixes things with his talking tools.

Really good program.

However, she's been introduced to Only Fools at an early age too.

I've never been called a pedo before.

I work for a television production company and we are currently making a show that will run for 3 weeks in August on Channel 4 after each episode of Big Brother. I have to create a childrens TV character based on a current popular one, who can go around media shindigs and generally offend & humiliate famous people.

I have no knowledge of children or whatever they are into these days, hence the questions. I am currently leaning towards a Barnie (puprle dinosaur) character who will be distorted into something like a large purple bell end.

If it was up to me, kids would only be allowed to watch Transformers, Thundercats and The Lost Cities of Gold. Why the hell do they need anything else??

I honestly thought you had an 11 year old newphew/cousin or something and you were struggling to buy a present for.

Sounds like a good job you have, and sounds like and interesting little project.

Maybe you can "bring back" one of these 80's gems by making say Lion-o the focus of the show!

Thats 'Mr' Bounty Hunter to you, plebe.

It probably is my biggest assignment as so far i've only worked on pilots and this is my first full series + i get some creative input.

Its looking to be another 11 O'clock Show, although realistically nothing i contribute can become big or mainstream simply because the characters have to be of a crude, offensive nature rather than anything with a bit of depth or mileage in it. 11 O'clock show gave us Sasha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais, Mackenzie Crook et al, whereas i'm scheming up inappropriate places for massive purple bell end shaped dinosaurs to show up and piss people off.

But whatever pays the bills.
