Sounds as if Colin has had an excellent time in boxing.

colins a great guy, his two losses against duran and k9 was when he was fighting way out of his weight, and as for the last one like he said he just wasnt there anymore, if hehad turned over earlier think he could have done more but he loved the amatures, all the best to him great guy;

Colin certainly had an eventful time when he gave the pros a fling in 2004 at the age of 31 (his lottery funding was cut back). He challenged Ossie Duran for the Commonwealth light-middleweight title a year later in London at less than a week's notice for Neil Sinclair ("I don't want to hit anyone any more," said Sinclair). Colin lost on points, plus six months of his career after he tested positive for cannabis. On his return, he jumped straight into an all-Scotland showdown with Edinburgh's Gary Young (in Edinburgh) and nailed the unbeaten 22-year-old with a big southpaw left and it all was over inside one stunning round. "Peely" also opened up (after he was badly cut) to win the Scottish light-middleweight title with a four-round stoppage of Arbroath's Barrie Lee in Glasgow in December 2006. Then "K9" Bundrage buckled him with body shots and the unheralded Booth became the first domestic fighter to beat him since Craig Lynch turned the trick in the amateurs in 1994. That was last month, after McNeil had broken his leg in two places doing his roadwork. He was just getting over cracked ribs picked up in sparring with Alex Arthur when he bust the leg. The word 'craggy' was invented for Colin, a genuine 'bleeder' and clearly injury prone, and he always grunted when asked for a bit of info.

Colin was a great boxer i always wonder what would have happened had he started boxing at 10 or 11. Hope he gets into coaching the younger boy's.

Yeah... I liked McNeil.. gave a good account of himself vs Duran.

Hope he is happy in his retirement, if the hunger returns then I still think he could be a player at Welterweight.
