PRIZEFIGHTER:- Is this dangerous?
PRIZEFIGHTER:- Is this dangerous?
I'm just watching Ferguson and Bessey go at it. Clearly, as the fight is over a short distance, they are both going for it.
Potentially, one of these boxers is going to fight again - and then again!
That's nine rounds of much harder than general boxing. You could argue it's about pacing yourself, but when a fight is over three rounds and it's all on the line, how are you going to take your foot of the gas?! You will attempt to win every fight at all costs surely?
I think this is an exciting concept, but I can see someone getting hurt. If someone goes into a second or third fight and is knackered and cannot protect themselves, they could be suspect to a big shot. Particularly as these guys dont seem the fittest.
Surely this breaks Board rules anyway - fighting more than once on a night?

This is just top draw council estate entertainment. I wouldnt worry too much about any of them suffering severe damage. None of them are overly able to dish it out.
It's an amusing event. Fair play.

...but some of them do have a decent dig. And the effect is multiplied if the recipient is exhausted.....Loftgroov wrote:No shitMaelstrom wrote:these guys dont seem the fittest.

And what constitutes as top draw entertainment on a posh estate in Sailsbury? A pukka round of golf?Loftgroov wrote:Maelstrom wrote:these guys dont seem the fittest.

Mate... don't worry about it. Who really cares? It'll sort itself out. I doubt any true patrons of the sport are going to be deeply concerned over the format of the competition.Maelstrom wrote:Also:- Isn't it going to be stupid if a fighter wins a semi-final, but is then too injured to fight in the final, meaning the stand in gets the chance?
Firstly, it's stupid for someone to walk into a final like that. Secondly, shouldn't the 'Next Best Runner Up' get the chance?
It is a bunch of fat blokes punching each other for the amusement of the watching crowd....
I've seen worse on a rugby pitch.

I fought more than once a night regularly at the SW Divs. On the same night Howard eastman fought three times beating Peter Wilson in his third fight of the night.Maelstrom wrote:I'm just watching Ferguson and Bessey go at it.
