Whatever happend to Harold Smith?

Remember Harold Smith, aka Ross Fields, the amazing scam artist of the early '80s? He looked ready to overtake King and Arum until it all blew up. I think he went to prison, right? Is he out? I can't remember what was the name of his promotional company. He was kind of a Robin Hood because he paid his fighters well and made matches the fans wanted. It's amazing that his rivals are still walking free. Where is he now? Let's bring him back to promote the upcoming Heavyweight champ tournament!

He is out and i'm thinking he keeps in touch with Larry Holmes.

Read the book Empire of Deceit, all about MAPSCAM.

My wife got me a 2nd hand copy for xmas about four years ago and i didnt put it down, read it cover to cover in 3 days.

I didnt speak to anyone that christmas!

The authors are Dean Allison and Bruce B Henderson, who were the FBI investigators on the case.

It was printed by Doubleday of Los Angeles in 1985.
