fenech at 44 yo is a bigger drawcard than mundine

Post by pawpaw »

has any mundine fight been as big as fenech v's nelson 3?
has mundine EVER drawn the interest or support fenech has?
will mundine ever get the support fenech did or will?

the answer to all those questions is NO. mundines boxing career pales in comparison to fenech's career. mundine will NEVER get the support fenech gets.

it is doubtful, that at the height of fenechs career that even 1% of the oz public ever cheered for the other guy. in mundines case, it is doubtful 50% of the australian public ever cheered FOR him!

the fenech/nelson 3 fight will be bigger than anything mundine has ever done. mundines love of punching bums, bagging aussies, big noting himself, etc, has ruined any chance he had of ever being as popular as fenech was in his prime. mundine is hated. most people want to see him get beaten. however, he rarely fights anyone whom has a chance.

hopefully, fenechs ppv success will shame mundine into fighting a credible opponent in an attempt to upstage fenech. a move that may well prove to be the mouths downfall.

so when mundine does finally announce he is to fight a credible opponent, thank jeff fenech for it. because it will be because of fenechs success and mundines jelousy that finally gets mundine into a real fight. a fight most of us hopes will see him ko'd cold AGAIN.

dont forget. when mundine announces a credible opponent, that it is because of fenechs comeback. do you think jeff realises this....? :TU:

yes.

this story has got 9 weeks to run in the media yet. all this is a well worn path for fenech. he is now more media savvy than ever. he understands ppv, etc. it will be bigger than anything mundine has done.

but, how big is that?

Saw Jeff interviewed last night. He said he had lost 40kgs in training for the fight. Word is he is so fit South Sydney have asked him to show their players his training routine.

With the Rabbitohs the only team in the NRL without a win this year, they could probably do worse. :TU:

During the Fox broadcast last night, Jeff was shamelessly promoting his sponsors and those getting him into condition for his "rumble in the jungle". By the time the main event rolled up, Jeff's self touting had become tad tedious.

He's Jeff Fenech and i dont want to knock the man.

But a 44 year old man doesn't excite me when it comes to fighting.
I suppose it would be in the comparison as Danny Green taken up boxing in a rematch with Mundine in 15 years. And i don't want to see that either.

Look you can piss in your own pocket, that this is going to sink Mundine, and this is the end for Mundine.

But it has nothing to do with it, you have gone way to far analysing this shit. Fenech Needs to get paid, he'll get paid, and he won't fight again, it has nothing to do with rivalry with Mundine.

Fenech needs a bit of the spot light.

your last sentence is right. fenech wants the spotlight. mundine has the light on him. fenech wants to steal the light from mundine. mundine will want it back. to get it back he needs a bigger fight. bigger risk. (about time) the bigger risk may see mundine get beat.
