just got back - you all need to mercilessly rib Emerson, who was nervy of missing the tube and therefore decided to miss the final.... lol!

That Dolan should have been out in the first fight IMO - was never a KD ffs, and going by the preceding stoppage, could plausibly have been stopped in the 2nd.

Didnt impress me in the final either, very keen on a crafty shot to the back of the head.

Rogan a well deserved winner IMO. I'd love to see the same format, but START IT EARLIER FFS.

Anyone else spot Enzo Mac with Morgans crew?

Hmm, not sure about that. I think the likes of Sprott or Skelton would be too good for him, he's very easy to hit. An on form Danny Williams would nail him with some massive shots as well.

i disagree stu, i thought it was a fantastic nights entertainment, and the key thing was...all fighters tried to win !!!

not often you see that in all fights on a british pro boxing bill im afraid to say.

i thought ibbs was the worst boxer of the night, he looked clueless !!

It was just a bit glorified toughman for me.

I appreciate a jab, and fighters taking a breather, pacing themselves, getting second wind etc... part of the art.

Many of them looked clueless IMO, but then thats the state of the Heavyweight devisions.

Give me something like Lynes vs Morrison any day.

Clueless, out of shape, and also very weedy looking. Bessey was a big guy, but at least he looked strong, as did Morgan. Ibbs jus looked like a really overweight light heavyweight.

I am glad that this has gone down well. I didn’t watch it myself, but I had a feeling that an event like this, where there has to be a winner at the end of it, would produce a bit of entertainment and excitement - which is what the event was intended to be. Well done to Hearn and all involved – fresh ideas like this helps to keep the interest in the game alive from grassroots.

I can remember the amateur NE and SE London Divs (replicated, I’m certain, across many other local divisions countrywide in the ABAs) where boxers had to fight 3 times in a night. When I was kid it was quite regular but when I was a senior and nowadays it seems a rarity. It was great to see depth like that and the anticipation it sparked.

Anyway I hope the event can be replicated across weight divisions as long as they don’t go into overkill. Realistically it’s an amateur event for professionals that tells us little about how well they will go over the longer duration. Anyhow some managers/promoters will protect their interests by saying to their willing charges ‘sorry son but you don’t need it - there other anenues for us to navigate your way through’.

That said good idea and well done Rogan.

I only managed to just get on the train fella. The City Line was closed so I had to go via London Bridge.

Well done Rogan,

What a man! All in all he seemed like the best person to win the prizefighter last night as not only did he put on a show each fight, he was highly entertaining throughout. Rogan was funny throughout, unlike Dolan who even his fans would say was a little boring in front of the cameras. I would love to see him in the RTE commentary box for the upcoming Brian Peters shows, whats the bets Sky use him on one of their shows or something. He seemed so funny and yet praised up his opponents (even that Ibbs boy, Christ he was worst and unconditioned boxer I’ve seen in a long while, as some else pointed out at least the other bigger men were tough he was not) but that’s getting away from the greatness of the one they call Rogie, I’m not sure were his boxing career can go from here but he’s 10-0 and will be a bit of a celebrity in Belfast for the next while or so. I must admit I liked the way the flag when up around his shoulders so quickly as well.

A good entertaining night, and the main man won..... ROGIE!!!!

what a fight of fighting, as said before 8 fights were both guys wanted to win. rogie just showed that little bit more grit and determination to get the title. Thought that was very entertaining. Went with a mate in an off-duty capacity, couple of beers, retained the interest from first bell to last - a nice addition to the traditional boxing scene

I also thought that Bill had the most support. For the first fight most of the venue were singing for him. I still don't think he lost it.

best venue

even billy gave it a real go

biggest disapointment was colin Kenna

butlin and ferguson were strong

Dolan had big support and very classy shots but Rogan seemed to win alot of support at the end with his aggression and strength

hes still a novice but moves into the brit top 5 easy

Good night of entertainment. It all happened in the final, which was exciting.

Rogan wanted it more. He was tired by rd 2 of the last fight. Many of the 8 were tired by rd 2 of their first fight. But his crafty right out out of the clinch got him those 2 KDs and the fight v Dolan. Well done.

Rogan definitely has some presence - you can believe he's an actor - and he seems a good personality. He obviously was fighting fit before the show, and this helped him a lot probably. Beats 3 guys on 1 night and earns himself £25,000 - you can't help but be glad for the man. Was he a bare knuckle fighter in the past?

It's a good idea, Prize Fighter, it turns out. Most boxers are normal blokes with jobs. Give them something to fight for and you get nights like this. ENTERTAINMENT. In all honesty, they don't have to be the best in Britain. The best in Britain - Sprott, Williams and Audley - have I am sorry to say outstayed their welcome with underperforming efforts.

My first time, and I thought the view, considering we were in the balcony, was superb.

I'll definitely go again. Just a shame it finished so late.

Can't understand why Enzo was there instead of in Vegas sparring Joe, although he did look like he'd lost weight, so maybe the flu has affected him badly.

Not sure Terry, I doubt Rogie will bother with Scott now. McBride v Rogan in dublin for the Irish title and then possibly Belshaw vs Rogan in the Kings Hall for an Irish title fight a few months after.

Rogan vs Belshaw has been hyped up greatly in the press by both fighters but I don't think (personally) that Rogan will be too bothered about Scott as the money is probably with McBride or Kenna in Dublin.

All that said, I dont know what the Prize fighter contracts might have stated in them for the finalists / winner. Hearn might want to arrange a few fights now for these guys and the fact that there was a cup given I think this could be the start of a continuing Prize fighter tourney. run another HW one and then pair the win off against Rogan over 10-12 rnds?? Not sure hhow Hearns will run with this.

As I learn more I'll keep you posted Terry. should hear from Rogie in the early part of next week, he doesnt keep secrets and will tell the press etc what the plans are now.

Off topic - some people didnt like last nights format, I really enjoied it. I also found that people in work were asking about it on Thurs / Fri wanting to know more and what channel it was on. Many of them txted me after the show to say they had watched and enjoied it very much. Now these are guys that wouldnt normally watch boxing at all, they had no interest in Hatton or Khan etc. Therefore I'd be keen to see the viewing figures for Prize fighter last night, I think Sky would have had better figures than a normal FFN show.
