Minor Upset: Eric Fields got KO'd last night!

Supposedly the future of the cruiserweight division, Eric Fields got stopped in 10 by Ola Afolabi. Was dropped twice in round eight and then finished off in the final round.

Providing he can stay active now (this was his first fight for 2 and a half years!), Afolabi could become a player in the cruiser picture. He sounds like a genuine dangerman. Fields, while clearly talented, musta been flattered by his first round KO of a shot to bits Kelvin Davis.

Afolabi's a Londoner, too, ain't he? Living in the US now, though...

LOL! I was wondering what the result was. People have been raving about Fields. I guess they'll stop that now, at least for a while.

That's both Fields and Hernandez wiped out within a couple of weeks of each other. You can't beat the cruiserweight division for excitement and competitive bouts. They're like heavyweights, only with skill, speed, stamina, chins and a tendency to put on great fights.

I'm amazed. I was tipping Eric to be the next big thing in that division, he looked very accomplised in his last fight. It's been a funny season for upsets.

You are right though - with the division limitraised to 200lbs these 'little big men' are putting the slow moving goliaths of the heavyweight division to shame at the moment.

Anyone got more info on Ola Afolabi? Mainly interested in his background and why he has had such a long spell of inactivity?..

I'm not happy that Fields lost. I'm just amazed at the amount of upsets we've had recently. Are you okay?
