Little bit unfair. He did make a couple of good defences of his belt and no one can take that away from him. Unfortunately losing so badly on Saturday and Gonzalez losing to a returning Reggie Johnson lessens his achievements, but he has done well for himself.
He should retire now though.

I have no idea what was going on, I switched off after the bell and went to bed, did not bother to hear the scores.

How many World Champs beaten lately?

Woods
Rees
Hatton
Macc ( at least DH is British)

Arsehole AA is getting BATTERED ( if he is the Interim whatever they call it).

Witter and JC to hold the fort.

THE 2 REAL BEST IN THEIR DIVISION CHAMPIONS.

Reggie beating Gonzalez was controversial to say the least.

Witter and JC to hold the fort.
They should have no problem holding the fort.

We only have 3 world champs now from having 7 last year.

Just Haye, Calzaghe and Witter.

Ricky Hatton (IBO) or doesn't that count?

I think Woods has done well in his career. He had a bad night against Tarver and was outclassed and out boxed. I agree he shuld now retire and be prouod of what he has achieved.

I think the 3 champs we have now are solid as they are proper champs for there weights and not paper champs.

Hatton kept giving up his title and lost so I just don't see him as champ anymore.

hatton's the champ at 140 until someone beats him.

he was stripped of 2 of the main titles.

lazcano is top 10 rated in the ring.

so hardly a total dunce.

malignaggi is no 2 rated.

i don't see bradley anywhere leek.

Thankfully spared us the fake Calzaghe/Woods "superfight" though, which was always a mismatch.
After beating Hopkins, Joe can't really go for Tarver either, as it'll look a step back, after Hop dominated Tarver so easily.

Well Joe said he go back to SM for it, and Pavlik is big enough to carry the weight you'd think - and don't just mean his wallet!

By that criteria, Lennox Lewis is STILL the heavyweight champion as he retained in his last ffight.

Hatton has lost his place due to being battered by PBF and not having a decent win at 14o since KT.

Witter is the man at 140.

ps.

Shut up!

Woods seemed in a trance - never seen him fight like that, Tarver is nothing special.

Whats the big surprise?

Woods never was a champ in the first place. He went 0-3 in world title challenges, then the IBF stripped his conqueror for having the audacity to try unify all 3 belts.

Woods beat a few guys out in Sheffield, lost again (but closer) v yet again travelling Glen Johnson, now surprise surprise he is completely outclassed and exposed for how limited he truly is v Antonio Tarver--When Woods got his IBF gift, Tarver should of held it anyway!!

The reason so many Brits are losing belts is only because they got very lucky getting them in the first place. The natural order is reasserting itself, be happy....

Woods froze and turned in a shocking performance worthy of the 'handpicked' opponent Tarver labelled him in the build up.

Tarver was tricky but nothing special. He pushed his punches, fell off balance a lot and was hurt to the body several times....but there was no fire or drive from Woods who choked on the big stage.

I don't mean to be harsh but Clinton talked the talk but then totally failed to deliver. If he'd fought his heart out and come up short then fair enough, but he didn't fight to anywhere near his potential.....Very dissapointing as the fight was certainly winnable.

I think he did pretty well with what he had, but was perhaps more shopworn that Tarver and less able to rise to the occasion - maybe three wars with Johnson, two with Gonzales and various domestic battles had just taken it out of him?

yes, it is a heartbreaking experience at times, but we are being shown who is truly who. We're finding out in a short space whom our real, elite world champions are. Calzaghe, Haye and either Witter or Hatton - they should sort out their feud ASAP - are UK's real world champions.

lennox lewis has retired ya numbnuts.

hatton is still an active fighter. :box:

2 of his last 3 fights have been at 140.

stopping castillo in 4 rds is a better result than beating harris.

castillo didn't get stopped by carlos maussa either did he.

Hatton shouldnt be linear at 140 because he lost to a 130lber in his last fight. The fight been at 147 is irrelevant, Hatton turned down the fight at 140 5times so he could pretend he was the champ at 140, hes not though. Mayweather by rights is linear at 140, he doesn't fight there now so the belt is vacant, Witter and Hatton are 1 and 2 so the winner is linear and Hatton isnt linear unless he beats witter.

Idiot.

Stopping a shot lightweight with no appetite for a fight is a better win than Harris?

Harris punched himself out and weighted a daft 136lbs for some reason.

Witter is the man at 140!

As someone said, we now KNOW who our real champs are.

And SHATTIN AINT ONE OF THEM!

The dodging little chav.

I like Woods but I think one more fight at home as a farewell and that should be it.

I don't think Woods should retire. He should challenge WBO holder Zsolt Erdei. Go to Germany, get a healthy payday, and give his all. 1 more fight to erase the unsatosfying last fight.

Got to say absolutely stunned.

After Round 3 - I kept saying was there something wrong with Clinton - but as much as I have the utmost respect for the team - Clinton, Dennis and Richard are not ones for excuses.

The way I saw the fight was like a lot of people on here - The most important thing was as his trainer Richard Poxon pointed out after Round 2 or 3 - "You have to believe you can do this Clinton" - secondly Clinton's main tool was his jab and boxing at distance and letting the rest follow - perhaps it was me being p*ssed off at Clinton losing - it just seems he failed to box to his strengths - he hardly threw the jab all night.

I have to be honest - Clinton did not box well and like someone text me it was sad to see him box after a lot of positives in recent performances - it really was a very bad day at the office.

For Clinton to be in another big fight he will have to be prepared to travel -and Dennis and Richards negoitiation skills will have to be at their very best.

I do not know at this stage what Clinton's intentions are - my guess is he will retire - but being selfish I hope he doesn't go out on a performance like that - it is my opinion Clinton Woods is better than that!!!

He should take a 4th fight with Glen Johnson - it's the most natural thing to happen.

I think above all its clear Woods does not travel well.....it obviously gets to him and it shows in his ring performance. Any further fights have to be fought in Britain. I still think he'd have beaten Tarver had it taken place in the UK.

Absolutely no money at all in that fight.

I agree with whoever said - get him in with Erdei!!!

Tarver will be occupied with either Calzaghe, Dawson or RJJ - I suppose there is a chance one of those will see Clinton as an easy touch - but Clinton will have to travel again.

I just hope Clinton fights again.
