Not sure what "pips it to the post" means. But, if you're saying Morales-Barrera is the better fight, then I agree.

Morales-Barrera I gets the nod for me. Fock me, has it been a good decade though, not over yet. I suppose in truth, any given ten years has it's share of doozies.

Barrera, Morales, Corrales, Pacquiao, Vargas, De La Hoya, Quartey, Trinidad, Mosley, Mayweather, Cotto, Tszyu, Jones, Hatton, Lewis, Castillo, the Marquez brothers, Vazquez...& these are just the top-rung fellas who've given so much, & only a few, at that. Be nice to see some kind of montage when this decade is over, or perhaps a DVD put together that chronicles some of the classic battles over the course of an hour or so, 2000-2009. I'd buy that 8)

I'd say it's between Corrales-Castillo I, Morales-Barrera I, and Vazquez-Marquez III. All three were absolutely brutal wars with tons of drama and shifting tides. They were epic like poetry.

I received Vazquez-Marquez III in the mail this week, but haven't watched it, yet...don't spoil the ending for me!

Oscar De La Hoya got knocked out in this decade, Elmer...what more could you ask for?

This was a great decade. In the context of every ten years since boxing began, it may well be nothing special. However, there have still been many, many, many great bouts from 2000-2008.

Honestly, I don't know that you're wrong. That's not to say that there weren't great fights and great fighters in this decade, but in terms of quality I think earlier decades, in general, had better of both. Mayweather wouldn't be P4P king ten years ago, much less twenty years ago.

Look, boxing overall is a declining sport. One simply has to recognize that (if you compare the number of great fights of 2000-2008 to 1980-88 or 1990-98 it's really no contest)

BUT, I think we should at least try to see the rainbow through the clouds. The smaller weight classes, particularly the flyweights up to welterweight, have proven to still consistently provide great matchups and timeless fights.

Goodnight, Irene, look how Oscar got KO'd. That was not even a knockout. There are a lot of great bouts, yes, BUT THE MAIN FIGHTS, THE SUPER FIGHTS of this decade, STUNK.

MAYBE you have not seen greater fights

I don't rate Castillo-Corrales 1 as a 'great' fight because the two fighters involved are so average. Barrera-Morales 1 was better fight because they are both so much better than Corrales or Castillo.

Castillo-Corrales was certainly action packed, but it reminds me of seeing a punch up in the street more than a top class boxing exhibition.

Toney-Jirov. Amazing.
Dorin-Balbi. Terrific.
Castillo-Corrales was incredible.
Barrera-Morales 1. Breath taking.

I have to go with Toney Jirov.

One of the most solid infighting skills not seen in years. It is a shame that taht art of infighiting is not there anymore.

castillo-corrales I does it for me,that was a 10 round instructional on infighting for any young fighter,and the most amazing ending that i'll never forget...rest in peace chico.
