Dustin Morrison KO 1 Clinton Bonds error

Post by pringle »

on 2008-04-12 you have Dustin Morrison KO 1 Clinton Bonds. I saw that fight, Morrison KO'd his opponent in the 2nd Rd.

I've got the video and the round card gal was definitely walking around with a "Round 2" card before the KO came.

Pringle, I'm not doubting you, but I am going off the commission report of the card. It states that Morrison won by KO at 1:08 of the first round. Myself or another editor will try to get in contact with the commissioner of the state to set the record straight.

I see your predicament, but I've got a video and if that was a first round KO, I'm wondering what the girl was doing in the ring before the KO happened carrying a "round 2 " card?

I'll review the tape again. :TU:

Send this video link when you straighten the commissioner out, he'll have a real hard time pleading his case for a 1st rd KO after seeing my vid of the fight. :TU:

OK I have reviewed the video and have put it on youtube. Link is below:

Round 1 starts at 1:21
Round 1 ends at 4:21 (that's 3 minutes exactly)

Round card girl comes up stairs at 4:27
with "round 2" card.
(apparently stopped camera waiting for second round)

Round 2 bell at 4:42
Ref waves for TKO at 5:50

that's a TKO at 1:08 of the 2nd round in my book, what do you think?

Hey GreyJ, after you see the video, why don't you change it right away? Videos usually don't lie!

What 's the purpose of having records if you don't strive for accuracy. I think that is what this particular forum is for, if you see an error, right?

Hey as far as I'm concerned BOXREC records aren't the best boxing records. They are THE boxing records!

Seriously, I've scanned those records for hours because they are so cool.

I hope my research doesn't lead to Dustin Morrison KO 1 win over Punch Pringle the next time I meet him. :o

He may have been trying to beat Edwin Valero's 1st rd KO record for all I know.
