Al Tedesco (Todisco)

This message is to inform boxrec that the information on Al Tedesco is inaccurate. The proper spelling for Al's last name is "Todisco". Though the information for the few fights you have listed appears accurate, your website is missing 85 of Al's professional fights. Al fought from 1930 to 1943 and accumulated a record of 83-11-2. He was born Oct 23, 1908 and died in 1982 in Jersey City, NJ. He was a featherweight that fought his entire career out of Jersey City, NJ. I understand that information on his fights might be missing, so I would appreciate it of the website would at least change the spelling of his last name to "Todisco".

Well, it seems somebody condused Al with Ernie Tedesco, aonther Jersey battler of that era. One fight for Al also wound up on Art Tedesco's record.

I have a few fights not listed, including one from 1929 which might be his debut, so I added that to his record.

Thank you for making the correction. Somewhere in a basement in Jersey City is a list of his 96 fights. If I can find it, I will provide the info on all of his fights. Thanks again.

If it makes finding information easier, he usually went by either Allie, Alessandro, or Alexander.

Yes, I most frequently see him as Allie -- a very Jersey nickname.

The NY Times did report at least one of his fihgts as Al Tedesco, so I left that as an "alias". Do you have his actual birth name and specific date of death>

I am planning on reviewing the Jersey Journal for another project for the years 1925 through 1935, so I will keep an eye out for newspaper reports. But, I don't have very many more fights for Allie, so if you can dig out that list, please let me know -- Mike -- you can write me at [email protected]
