Calzaghe comes on strong late and wins by 3 rounds. B-Hop does enough spoiling to make it close until then.

Taking the Mrs to Vegas tomorrow for our first fight on the Strip. Can't wait. Who says I never take her anywhere.........lucky b1tch.

My post about Buncey was still the best one on here.

However, I think the Bika fight will have informed Hopkins a little. I can imagine we'll see a mixture of tactics. I think Hopkins may try to get some doubt into Joe's mind by rushing in with that right hand and head, the smother him. Make Joe panic that on his Las Vegas debut he's not doing what he wanted to do, throw shots.

Hopkins will then switch to counter-puncher and wait with that right hand cocked. If Calzaghe gets over-eager and piles in, the could get stiffened or dropped by that right hand.

However, I still believe Calzaghe will win. He has more ways to win, is younger and faster and has better stamina.

Calzaghe points after a poor start.

Experience aside, Kessler is not far off Hopkins in overall ability. We're not talking Sugar Ray Leonard here.
Would Hop be a big favorite over Kessler? Doubt it.

I've checked the odds for a Calzaghe KO 10, & they are 33-1. Worth a punt or not for a bit of interest?

I still cannot decide, & I know it's a bit cowardly maybe, but I'm gonna have to sit on the fence with this one! Sorry guys!

I genuinely believe Kessler is at least on Hopkins' level these days, technically at least. Easy to dismiss the Dane after his loss to Calzaghe. He's the goods don't worry about that and will clean up now at 168 IMO. OK doesn't have the experience, reputation or mouth of 'B-Hop' but am telling you he's technically as good. Ask Calzaghe how good Kessler is. I have and he rates him by far and away as the best he has ever fought.

I predict:

1. Calazage will throw more but Hopkins will land the cleaner more effective blows. This will make the rounds hard to score
2. Hopkins will probably give the first few rounds away
3. It will be 7-5 or 8-4 either way depending on your preferance (quantity or quality)
4. Calazage will throw less than usual after Hopkins lays traps counters and makes Joe more cautious to throw
5. Calazage will be hit more cleanly than all his other fights and miss more than any of his previous fights

All that been said I predict a close decision to Joe as BHOPs despite everythingbe too inactive due to his age

I love Joe Calzaghe...he's truly genuine, not like another light welter british fighter we all know.

I don't think Joe will stop Bernard, bu think he will win a close points decision.

I think Joe will take some heavy right hand counters from Bernard, who will then proceed to jump on Joe and try to outmuscle him with less than gentlmanly techniques

All in all though, Joe's high punch rate will win him the fight but I think
Joe will learn a hell of a lot from this crafty veteran, who may even cut Joe.

I'm definietly expecting Hopkins to pull off some stunt at tonights weigh in..

I can`t help making the comparison of the Eubank Joe fought to the Hopkins he`ll face tomorrow.

Both may have/had an edge in experience . .and both dangerous with the right hand as Joe comes in??

If an inexperienced Calzaghe could avoid it then .. I see the wiser Calzaghe of today doing the same ..

I see an easy night for Joe .. can`t remember being this sure about any big-fight before

When this was first announced I was totally uninspired and thought Calzaghe was copping out by taking this fight, but Bernard is such a good fight builder, and carries such an aura with him, that somehow I'm stoked and cannot wait to watch it.

I've just got a feeling one judge is going to give this to Bernard.
