I would like to know how good is former middleweight contender Gustav Scholz who fought Harold Johnson? Also how tall is Gustav Scholz in height? I would like to know please. Can anybody find out even you Silkov.

Sorry Kovit I guess there's no Bubi Scholz fans on Boxrec...

I remember reading an old Ring magazine article on "The Greatest German Boxers of All time" and he was ranked in the top ten ..I guess he had a long undefeated string at the beginning of his career

Gustav "Bubi" Scholzis a legend. In Europe he was the best middleweight/light heavyweight fighter from mid-fifties to mid-sixties. he was real good. the loss vs harold johnson was very close. his height was about 1.80 m. he was very quick and had a hard punch. he was very popular in germany e.g. like Franz Beckenbauer(biggest sport star/soccer player) or max schmeling. After his career he had some problems with alcohol. in the eighties he went to jail because of killing his wife. He died on 21th August 2000. after schmeling he is the 2nd best boxer of all times in germany.
