Carl Crook, Billy Schwer (just a brilliant Euro level fighter - rarely gets a mention these days), Shea Neary, Chris Saunders (hit or be hit) Kevin Leushing, Wayne Rigby - there have been loads of exciting lower weight fighers from GB over the last couple of decades.
PAt Barrett - saw his name mentioned on another thread - what a deadly puncher he was - pure excitment every time out (except for the Manning Galloway debacle)

good call
He wasn't the greatest fighter; but you'd struggle to find a fighter more exciting, especially as he wasn't a top of the line fighter whose tickets were expensive.

Mixed race scouser based in London - He had some terrific scraps! The one I remember was his war with Kirkland Laing as well as his fights against David Dent, Kostas Petrou.macxwell66 wrote:did kelly box on grandstand n midweek sports special a few times..longish hair come forward style..Carlos-Wigan wrote:I have two...

gott agree with macxwell66 about henry wharton, I remember seeing him against sam storey over in halifax, it looked like the fighting wasn't just gonna be taking place in the ring that night with the crowd rivalry!
Henry was always good value, he's up there with bomber Graham as one of the best boxers never to win a world title. I know Carl fought there last year, but it'd be nice to see more bouts at the town hall, even if they're not name fighters, its a great venue.
