Your most "anticpated" fight!!!
Come on guys - lets go with this one.
I am sat here getting excited - its been sometime I have got like this before a fight!!!
so here's the next question - name the fights that before they happened you thought f*ck me can't wait for that fight - so much so in the lead up to the fight you put in all the precautions to make sure you did not miss it.
I have got 4 alarms to make sure I don't miss this one - as I say been a long time since that has happened.

I remember getting up at 5am to drive to a pub in Dubai to watch Hamed Vs Barrera... only to be sitting there round after round watching it all slip away.
Had huge butterflies before the Kessler fight as the Dane looked so mean and I thought there was a very real chance he'd take Joe down.
Getting serious butterflies now though

1) The proposed 1990 fight between Tyson & Holyfied was number 1 for me.
I was so gutted then Tyson got his bullying buttocks spanked, which then blew that one out of the water.
I got excited again, approaching November 1991, when the fight was mooted again, but again, Tyson let me down, this time out of the ring! :x
2) Eubank -v- Benn 1.
3) Leonard -v- Hagler.
4) Jones -v- Toney.
5) Hagler -v- Hearns.

This thread can mean different things to different people.
I will never forget the build up to Hamed v Robinson in September 2005 because I was there all the way through and milking it.
My first experience ever of the pschological aspects of boxing.
First time I KNEW the result three days before the event.
Naz did him in mentally as well as physically.
It's difficult to put it into words, maybe others in the boxing community know what I mean.
Spud - you've been around. Am I making sense ?

A few:
Holyfield -Tyson 1 & 2
Roy Jones -John Ruiz
Nigel Benn- Gerald Mcclenan.
Johhn Nelson vs Adam Watt (big strong aussie -very dangerous fight)
Johnny Nelson vs Enzo Maccrinelli (it never came off, but I think Johnny would have knocked him out and got the full respect that he deserves).
Joe Calzaghe -Jeff lacy
Joe Calzaghe -Mikkel Kessler (being half welsh/half danish, I was enjoying the build up + calzaghe is a big hero of mine -great atmoshpere on the night -I took my ex-girlfriend down and she really enjoyed it also).
De La Hoya -Mayweather.

Haye-Mormeck, Haye-Mac, Calzaghe-Kessler, Calzaghe-Lacy (really didn't want Joe to lose that one), Pavlik-Taylor, Toney-McCline (compounded by the fact that Toney got injured and the bout called off), but it was Holyfield-Tyson (I was a schoolby at the time, got my mum to wake me up with the results off radio 5 live) probably above all though.

I know exactly what you mean by this point. I was down there for that event and thought that Naseem mentally obliterated Robinson (offering a winner takes all prize). I have read Geoff Beattie's account of it too (from the psychological standpoint) and it was a fascinating period.twenty six wrote:This thread can mean different things to different people.
