BOXING BOOKS FOR SALE... ALI, and Fiction
The advise I'd give you as a young boxer is try and get tapes of Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Larry Holmes, Wilfredo Gomez, Salvadore Sanchez, Roberto Duran and Alexis Arguello and watch how they move around the ring and use their skills, see how they used the jab (Duran was a great boxer although many think of him just as a slugger.... he had great defensive skills... watch his fight vs Iran Barkely when he was 38)... basically try and build a style linked to good balance, a good defence and a good jab... if you can get these things together then you will have success as a boxer.... try to learn from other fighters rather than imitating them... build your own style.
For instance, very few people can get away with imitating Ali as he had amazing reflexes, great speed, a great tatical mind and one of the best chins ever....
The jab is the most important thing to have... more than power... a good jab alone will help you beat many boxers... many boxers today neglect the jab. Hope this is some help.
