Iran Perez is not going at 48 kg. It will be Yampier Hernandez who gets the last chance. Both cubans could miss on qualifying bearing in mind they have recently lost to opponents they could meet in Guatemala.

Argentina:

48 Junior Zarate
57 Jesus Cuellar
60 Juan Cuellar
64 Gumersindo Carrasco
69 Diego Chaves
75 Ezequiel Maderna

Brazil:

48 Paulo Carvalho
51 Robenilson Vieira
57 Robson Conceicao
60 Everton Lopes
64 Myke Carvalho
69 Pedro Lima
75 Yamaguchi Falcao
91 Hamilton Ventura
+91 Gleison Abreu

Nope. He did well in Chicago, but came up short and flamed out quick in Trinidad. I'm hoping he makes it, he's very exciting to watch.

Also Josh Garza is gone. Is that recent?

Oh, thanks. I meant if Garza's departure was recent, or if he had moved on a while ago. :TU:

Yet another question. What happened to Keith Tapia? I don't recall seeing him on any pro cards. Injured? Out of favor?

I asked the PR coach in Trinidad that question and they don't know what happened to him. I had heard from people in NY over a year ago that he was running with a gang in NY and I was thinking maybe that is why his family or trainer sent him to PR. I hope he stays out of trouble and gets back in the gym. He has talent and could do something in boxing.

Goold old Mexico. Send Marco Periban, 75kg., to Trinidad and Tobago where he loses. Going to Guatamala at the weight is Rodrigo Garcia, who grew up in the U.S., in So. Calif., and actually won the national PAL last year. Guess he's turning pro soon. :o

I dunno about the others there, but Oscar Rivas has some potential. He is only 19 and although he got schooled by Hunter, If hes on the opposite side of the bracket he will be going to Beijing

Here in Montreal, we were saying the same thing about Canada's Bence... except that he drew Hunter right off the bat. It's not a lost cause for Bence though, he has a 1-1 record against Hunter.
