Any news on Jamie Moore?

I noticed he hasnt boxed for six months - he seemed on the cusp of something major after beating tough nut Sebastian Lujan but his momentum seems to have stalled. Unluckily the european champ pulled out of a fight with him - any chances that fight is still in the pipeline? Never in a dull one is Jamie!

Think he's in an 8-rounder on the Hatton undercard. Maloney has the rights for Moore's challenge to EBU champ Baysangurov. Boxing News say Maloney has until June to stage it.

Baysangurov is a bit of a Kostya Tszyu in waiting - EBU champ at the age of about 21, battered future Pavlik challenger Rubio - but isn't the finished article yet following an awkward one with Hussein Bayram.

Baysangurov is rated not far outside the WBC top ten as well.

I keep saying this: Moore-Baysangurov would be an amazing fight.

Looking forward to seeing Moore fight again, and hopefully he gets to capitalise on that domination of Lujan. Has anyone contributed more to domestic UK boxing than Moore? Hopefully he gets moved forward.

Hiya lads, yes boxing on Ricky's bill in 8 rounder. Been out coz of op on shoulder, which was booked in for week after my euro shot but as we know that fell through, but it needed doing because it's been troubling me for 2 years. So having warm up before euro shot to make sure i'm 100% for it, coz as you say Baysangurov is a crackin fighter so gotta make sure i'm right to make sure I win

. No date yet but prob find out after May 24th.

Jamie brings a lot to the fight as long as he is 100%, the EBU title itself with bring the desire needed. Bring it on, it is a good fight in prospect.

Am I the only one who thinks Jamie should side step the EBU belt and look to the states for career progression? He is world ranked - get him on Friday night fights or shobox against a faded American name

His style and love of a tear up would do great business in the US. The EBU belt just looks like a potential banana skin from where I am standing, although maybe I am under rating Jamie's versatility/ability a bit there..

Food luck to him which ever way he chooses to go - he has been a stalwart of British boxing for these past few years

Cheers Jamie, glad to hear your back in the ring soon. Ive seen a few clips of Baysangurov - he's good no doubt but beatable - he likes a tear-up and so can leave himself open. Provided Jamie gets past Baysangurov I'd like to see him aim at new IBF champ Verno Phillips who is well preserved but really cant handle pressure these days - he was reeling all over the place in the last few rounds in his fight with Ouma.

definitely. if Mike Katsidis can make it big after ONE great fight and few skills...Moore - who has plenty of skills - can also make it big.

Mooresy's had terriifc fights with Jones (3rd bout), Facey (good little scrap, the 1st one) and Macklin. Looking at the patient dominations of Jones (1st fight) and Lujan, I think he's got realistic world class chances.

However, Baysangurov brings two things: a European title AND a WBC #7 world rating. So this could be a very purposeful fight. I like watching both guys fight, so for me this would be one to get very excited about.

European champions often has BORING connotations, ala Piccirillo. This one doesn't.

Also, IF its a sensational fight, that will stir up interest as well.

- Irish light-middleweight champion Ciaran Healy will defend his title against Jamie Moore at the National Basketball Arena, Tallaght, Dublin on July 12. Moore (28-3 (19) is the reigning British light-middleweight king and qualifies for a shot at Healy’s belt by virtue of having an Irish mother.

A bit of a step back from European level to put it mildly, would the British board even allow this? Healy got beat by a guy with a reord of 0 - 3 recently! Or is it just a case of Moore's name being used to drum up some publicity?

I could understand Jamie squring off again with Macklin for the IRish title as they're both eligible but Healy?

Moore isn't the British Champ having vacated, and in the same article they describe him as that, they do a report on Rhodes winning the title !
Read the post from the man himself - it tells you precisely what Jamie's doing in the coming months.

Bundrage is better than Ouma, unfortunately Kassim's status isn't what it was.

I would expect Jamie to be against someone better than Cornelius (he did we miss him on the funny names thread?!?!) for his US exposure, he's not on Jamie's level.

Someone top 10 would be nice.

You beat me to it re James Moore and Jamie Moore.

I know Jamie Moore took a step back with the Facey rematch, but Ciaran Healy (Andy Lee's Irish debut victim!) would've been an astonishing step back, & the wrong weight, LOL
