Froch -I will produce a better performance than Calzaghe

Carl Froch says he will produce a better performance than Joe Calzaghe did at the weekend in his WBC Super-Middleweight Title Final Eliminator against Denis Inkin (Russia) at the Trent FM Nottingham Arena on May 10.

British champion Froch (22-0) 18 KO’s was not overly impressed by Clazaghe's points win over Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on Saturday.

'Cobra' Froch (Nottingham, England) fights Inkin live on ITV1 in the UK and on a slight delay on a ShoBox special in the US for the right to be the next mandatory challenger for the WBC title held by Calzaghe.

"I've been a big Calzaghe fan down the years and I obviously wanted him to win, but it was a terrible performance from him and I thought Hopkins did enough on the night," said Froch.

"Calzaghe was messy and inaccurate with his punches. Nothing really landed on Hopkins. I thought Calzaghe got beat”.

"To be fair to Joe styles make fights and Hopkins was just looking to spoil later on, but I intend to give a better performance against Inkin. I'm treating this as a world title fight even though it is a final eliminator because I think Joe would rather give up the belt than fight me, I’m to fresh and to dangerous."

Also on the Hennessy Sports bill is Junior Witter's (Bradford, England) next defence of his WBC Light-Welterweight Title against his mandatory challenger Timothy Bradley (Palm Springs, USA).

Froch can sure talk about ugly fights!

He's had quite a few at domestic level where Joe destroyed fighters at before he was a champion.

If he thinks he has a chance then why not take It by now? He's been a pro since 2002 and not gone beyond the British title until now with Inkin.

I'd love to see Froch Vs Calzaghe, because I reckon Carl takes him out, but as Carl says "he is toO Fresh and toO dangerous" (thought I'd save BC the bother of pointing out the spelling mistakes)

Everyone knows Froch from his BBC days, when they were getting in with a chinese and seeing his slow, weary, lanky style and cobra-like instincts, and uppercuts from out of range. And who in the entire country can forget him telling the ITV cameras that he'd 'smoke Calzaghe's boots' at Khan-Kindelan II.

After the Inkin fight, in which Froch may well produce a three-round demolition job, trust me, people (maybe a lot) will be calling for the Froch-Calzaghe. Even though it doesn't seem like it now.

I've said Froch takes Calzaghe since 2003.

Nothing has yet changed my mind.

He's had ugly fights against Reid, Westerman and looked bad against Barney.

They wern't as bad but he still had some ugly fights with fighters who were leagues below Hopkins. Froch's one pace would of suited Hopkins and he would of been hugged too much to get his uppercuts off.

The Reid fight was abit messy til Frochy took him out and he looked to be suffering from a lack of motivation or complacency against Westerman til he took him out, but I disagree about the Barney fight nobody has looked as impressive as Carl against Barney IMO who is a nightmare to fight

2003 when he hadn't even won the British yet and only beat Page?

Froch would be perfect for Joe, a guy who tries to box like Roy Jones but If open to straight rights more than Joe which means Joe's southpaw Jab easily gets through and then he can pressure Carl overwhelming him.

I think Froch takes a vacant title and would hope he wins otherwise.

Hennessey Is known to throw his guys In the lions den when there not good enough clearly but he's not that Insane.

Calzaghe would look like an anime character boxing circles around him.

When a motivated Froch turns up, your gonna see a whole different side to him.

None of you have witnessed anything close yet.

Having spoken to him the other day, he is absolutely bang on for knocking Inkin through the ropes.

It's gonna be a hiding like Apollo Creed took off Ivan Drago.

Once again Wellie Boot cannot resist using SN fighters to boost his own fighters profile. Shame that Sky are aunder order not to mention JC though isn't it?

Froch, like Thaxton, has been offerred fights with their nemisis's but both have now missed the boat due to their inflated ego's.

Froch will have to be content to takes Joes belt's from the dustbins and only then, if he beats Dennis Inkin and then miraculously gets past Kessler, who you can bet your house the WBC will put in his way next.

I am sure that Froch will look better than JC did on Saturday night but then Inkin is hardly a Hopkins is he?

Yeah, but no details of the offer were made public, so it may have been a SN derogatory 10 pence bid
