I've often wondered whether Joe Louis liked being called "The Brown Bomber?"

Brown Bomber is the least of the nasties...
Boston Tar Baby
Black Panther
Chocolate Fist
Kid Chocolate
to name a few.
On the other end of the spectrum..a ahem mma fighter that posts on this
illustrious forum has been given the cage names of..
"Albino"
"Skinny white boy"
"Pastey Warrior"
"Fake Tanned avenger"
I would much rather something cooler sounding even if people from certain PC acion groups may find it offensive.

I know some states removed the word from 'Huckleberry Finn'. It's a whitewash of history (that in many ways is worse than the original racial slur), trying to pretend that somehow prejudice never existed.raylawpc wrote:I see now it deleted the word n*gger, which is what I originally wrote (except I used the "i" instead of the "*"), and substituted "juggle bunny".
Although I have some sympathy with concept of "political correctness," some words - however inflamatory they are now - have a historical context. We cannot rewrite history. Those words were used and should be discussed, in that context.
I understand why it's taken out because nobody wants posters using it at one another but in this case Ray used it appropriately.
I know someone who worked for a year with his accompanist on a concert made entirely of Stephen Foster songs.
He figured that with the current politically correct atmosphere, a recital made up exclusively of works by an American composer would be welcomed.
He found out otherwise.
The critic from the big paper who attended wrote a "review"
which never mentioned the singing or playing
but only danced in holy terror to denounce the improper words in Foster's songs.
So the guy worked for a year, planned carefully for what would hopefully please the current politically correct agenda,
and still got no review of his singing.

Please post the original review so I can see if you are lying again.
