Christ almighty, boxing has really been blinded by the 'Darren Anderton's' lately.

Official reason: facial injury in sparring.

Dodson isn't a piker, his injury will be genuine.
Shame though.

According to SecondsOut, Froch defends his English title instead. I wonder if our friend Alan Jones gets the nod.

Dodson is known to have nose problems.
I understand he took a blow in sparring and nasal damage has been caused.
He's been told to take the whole of March off.
He had an op on his nose late 2003.
Maybe it's a repeat of the same injury ?
Tell you what, Hennessey is gonna struggle to sell ringside at £100 a touch now.
Unless of course, there's something to fill the void ?

Are we to assume by that excellent, highly-informed and omniscient post, that Junior Witter may get a call?

Dodson saw Froch on Eastman's recent undercard and has bottled it.

Dodson should be stripped of the title, with it being immediately awarded to Froch who can make his first defense on the projected date.

Harsh yes, but..if boxing is to retain ANY credibility then this has to be the way forward.

Kelson Pinto to get "injured" just before the Hatton fight anyone? You know it's true.....

It's a bit soon to call Dodson a bottle job. Remember Tony came in at short notice to take on Brian Barbosa when Brian Magee didn't want to know.

It's very frustrating when a boxer pulls out but I think Dodson deserves the benefit of the doubt this time.

bennie suggested Alan Jones for Froch which ain't a bad idea, but can it be for the English title? I thought Jones was Welsh.

 Course he has, mate.

There's nothing wrong with pulling out at the last minute when things aren't right, if your Dad had known that we'd all be better off.

Dodson is not the kind of lad to "bottle" a fight, if he's injured, he's injured.

Doubt Tony has bottled it, he seems the sort to motivated by the chance to beat Froch and he doesn not come across as a quitter, it is a frustrating development though.
