I agree. Derry Matthews probably thought the same thing a few weeks ago and look what happened.Asterix wrote:That was his 3rd pro fight, and he was around 19. I don't care if you watch it or not, but I think it's naive to dismiss Dlamini without seeing what he's like. Now on the flip side, I do understand that it would also be naive to think that he's going to be great. He was hand picked by allegedly allegedly after all.MBP wrote:Asterix he Drew with an opp that had 1 lost 1 then retired, come on.....Asterix wrote: I take it you've seen Mlungisi Dlamini fight then? I'm happy about a few things here: Unbeaten in 18 fights, 5' 10" and pretty good KO ratio. Also, he's The Killer Shark!
You dont work in FW office as well do ya? Trying to sell this to us coz some of us on here know a bit about boxing..
Has anyone got any footage of him? Then, if he's crap, bash away.
Khan's next opponent..

People bash it because if it is true then it is a step backwards.
We can't just let it ride, because we havent heard of him and there is a 1 in a 100 chance he could be azumah nelson in the making - Furthermore we know quite well Frank won't be making any match of that type.
People slate Calzaghe's and Hatton's fight's over the years, well Khan is going the exact same route.

If this is true then I hope your dad aint going to be in trouble for you coming on here and leaking all these details.Dioufy wrote:... is Mlungisi Dlamini for the WBF strap, Commonwealth and that WBO inter-continental shite.
My dad works at Sports Network and he works on the publishing side and he's been told to find pictures of the guy with his belt for the poster.
Trust me... when have I ever let you down.

One thing i like about Khan is he wants a Title shot NOW, not pad his career up.
BUT, if he wants 1 moe fight before a title shot, it has to be BIG, a real threat of an opponent

I think the problem is m8, that we'd like Khan to fight someone who can be used as a measuring stick as to how good he really is, someone like Armando Santa Cruz. The problem with this guy is that yes, since he's undefeated he could turn out to be a good fighter and prove a good test BUT on the other hand since he hasnt fought anyone of note he could equally be really poor, like Samuel Kebede - the undefeated African who was woeful in a challenge for Scott Harrison's WBO belt. And a quick look at the records shows he's not even the best lightweight prospect in South Africa - that would be this guy:Asterix wrote:I take it you've seen Mlungisi Dlamini fight then? He started off with a few knock over jobs like every other novice pro and more recntly he's beaten Limond, Lawton, St Clair and Earl which isn't bad going. However, the Kristjansen fight coupled with this one if it's true is a load of dogshite and not the right way to go if Khan is going to be challenging for a world title. Khan will have no easy way to a world title at lightweight either, so he should be getting stiff tests every time out now.

Obviously it's a shame no-one here has heard of him before, but he's spent almost all of his career in South Africa and he's young.

who would be a more viable opponent as he's in the top ten of most of the alphabet boys.

No way does your old man work directly for - or exclusively for Sportsnetwork.
Matchmaker - Dean Powell
Assistant - Dennis
Richard Maynard - Press Officer
Andy Ayling - "General Duties" or whatever
Forgot the lady who is Fr anks PA - Emma or something like that
Tickets & Accounts - is a lady called Jan I believe if she is still there
Not sure who does the poster side of things now but it used to be a company somewhere near Milton Keynes - certainly close to there.
Ian Axon does all the website site stuff which I believe includes allegedly.tv interviews.
So come on Dioufy who is your old man!!!

Khan got some American training like most said he should of had.

The other thing you have to take in account is Sports Network's history of matchmaking. I know without seeing Dlamini fight that he's not going to be some wrecking machine, because if he was Fwank wouldn't have selected him as Khan's next opponant.
