Can anybody remember the old "Boxers" video/magazine collection from Marshal Cavendish in the mid 90's. I got to around half-way to collecting them all, but finances prevented me from completing the collection. Anybody know, of anyway way I can finish the collection. These old ESPN classic shows, currently airing on five, are direct copies of the old boxers videos. I know Marshal Cavendish occasionally republish some of their material - but I don't know who to write to.
I am also aware of a German, South African and Austrailian version of the magazine/video. For the most part they were the same as British (obviously, the language difference) however, for some issues they focused on German, SA, and Austrailian stars - it would be quite good if I could get hold of them.
Any ideas of who I can contact?
Boxers.

Had a good week with the research for my studies, so I thought I had a little time. Fairly quick typer also.richter-scale wrote:i also got about half way through myself pal... the video came with a little magazine on the boxer featured. got a little expencive near the end. ps. you've been busy this morning stu.
I can't remember exactly who - it may well have been "Lightweight" or "sugars4" - my memory has let me down I'm afraid. Anyway, somebody a few months back said that they got the full collection on ebay for peanuts!! £80 or so I think, which, when you consider the £5.99 or whatever it was for each installment, really is a good bargain.
I reckon that could be your best bet. I know a few people who've got the whole set, but I don't think they'd sell. Ricky Hatton has them all I think!

How's about that then, it could be your lucky day, Stu. I've just had a look for you and found this. The lad selling them doesn't have any feedback which you've always got to be wary of, but it's worth a bid surely:

Make sure you get a move on though, bruv it ends in 4 hours!!
Hang about 'till the last 10 minutes or so and then stick a bid in of about £100, I reckon his reserve will be around there or there abouts. If you're not registered with ebay it only takes 5 minutes or so to do. Go for it.

No, its not my lucky day - haven't got the appropriate cards to buy on Ebay. I was thinking mainly of finding a way that MC could consider republishing it, I don't need the whole collection. - Perhaps if this fellow is a poster here, he can get to this site (cause its looking unlikely he'll sell).FlawedGenius wrote:How's about that then, it could be your lucky day, Stu.
