about to be shown, 'fight of the night' apparently. Must be exciting considering how good the Williams-McKeever fight was. Dunno if they will fit all 5 rounds in though.

Great finish. Dean looked sharp with the left hook all night and nailed Hibbert with a beauty in the fifth, a second one slicing open a bad cut on Hibbert's eye as the Manc staggered to the canvas. He took a nine-count (and only reluctantly got up it seemed) and Dean was in the process of breaking him down with more precise shots when the ref called a rightful halt. I can't believe how sharp Dean looked. To be honest, I thought this match was an ambitious one, but I underestimated our man. He looks capable of making real noises at lightweight.

Cook, Earl, and Vanzie are probably a class above, but there isn't too much between the rest. Dean looked good tonight, he's in the mix with the rest.

Think Vanzie is on the way out. Murray and Hunt clashing will get rid of them. I know Deano wants to avenge a loss to Murray in the amateurs

Well done Dean - I was actually worried that you were spending a little to long on boxrec for the preperation. I remember David James claiming the computer games dull the reflexes, so I was a little worried. But, you've come through in style.

Lets not forget, Hibbert at one stage won an eliminator to face then champion Vanzie. Your right up there now.

Earl has looked unimpressive in his previous 2 fights, and that includes the one where he disputedly took the title from Vanzie. I believe he is there for the taking.

I feel like I have embarked on another pro career. Bear in mind that I had 5 years away from the boxing gym, so you wouldn't expect anyone with that length of time off to jump right into title class in such a short space of time. However, after just 2 fights back in, I have already established myself as a contender in stopping a top 10 fighter inside 5 rounds. If you can expect improvement in my future fights, what does that tell you.

Yeah, I agree - I think Cook is the clear top at the moment, but I do need to see more of Bennett. Vanzie look faded against Earl the first time, he start well, but really had no stamina.

Earl didn't do himself any favours that night either.

Whilst I don't think Burke was outclassed by Zoff, if you can compare that to Cook's performance against Zoff (minus the fact that Cook was unproffesional with his preparation and ran out of gas) then you can see the difference. Cook would have beaten Zoff by a mile if he hadn't just tanked out - and he doesn't normally do that.

Depends on what I am offered, but ideally I want 3 more fights at 6, 8 and 10 rounds before challenging for a decent title.

Very good result Dean, unable to see fight, but stoppage win over a decent fighter in only your second fight back is fantastic.
