Jamie Moore fighting for the Irish title
I was told the same to be fair, that Moore was fighting for the Irish title based on his mother being Irish. I thought he was using it as a keep busy/keep the pennies rolling in sort of fight as he waited for his crack at the Euro. To be honest Healy was unlikely to last more than 3 or 4 rounds if they did fight, so it would be seemingly less risky than a regular tune-up.

Don't know what the problem is with this - The people behind Jamie Moore - who are Steve Wood and Moore's promoter Frank Maloney are presently finalising details for Jamie's fights over the next few months.
As everyone knows in boxing you come across a stumbling block here and there - If Jamie fights for the European title after 24 May then great - if however due to "boxing politics" he has another tune up fight - then so beit - I remain quite confident Jamie Moore will prove his talent and by the end of 2008, we will be debating on here due to Moore's probable status as the European Title holder whether Jamie is ready for a world title in 2009.
Lets not get too caught up on whether Jamie fights for the European title in 2 or 3 fights time - or whether there are warm up fights in between.
For the record - Due to Moores recent lay off, I honestly believe it makes perfect sense for Jamie to have at least 2 warm up fights before he faces this Zaurbek Baysangurov for the European title - that is a hard fight for Jamie and a little more patience from him and the boxing fans will do no harm whatsoever!!! - bear in mind please Baysangurov has fought twice in 2008 and Moore's last fight was in October 2007 - May's fight is a good move with another warm up within a few weeks after that - and then if the rust is off the European title in September would be a good move.

Obviously Moore's having 1 stay busy fight, on the Hatton undercard. But does it make sense to have 2 warmups when - according to Boxing News - Maloney has to stage the EBU title fight in June?Spud wrote:Don't know what the problem is with this - The people behind Jamie Moore - who are Steve Wood and Moore's promoter Frank Maloney are presently finalising details for Jamie's fights over the next few months.

Also, is Baysangurov going to do a Denis Inkin, a double pullout perhaps? Bloody well hope not. I can see why he wouldn't want this fight, but if he wants to keep his title he has to defend. I think Baysangurov would be just as much of a hot prospect if he won some kind of W_ _ International/Intercontinental type pf belt.

Moore and Basayngurov are due to fight for the European title - you say it is something like in June - Basangurov has had 2 fights in 2008 and after a lay off the first opportunity for Jamie to fight is on the undercard of the Hatton show - yes there have been a number of shows before then but to be fit and ready the shows scheduled meant the Hatton one was the first one he was going to be ready for - nice and simple.
However - after having a warm up fight on 24 May - are you now stating that Jamie now has to fight for the European title only a matter of less than a month later? for me that does not make sense.
One warm up fight after an injury and then straight into a European title fight does not make sense to me.
A september fight is a logical call on this.
I am referring to what was printed in Boxing News which stated that Maloney has to do the fight by June. Sense or not, that is what it says. Does Frank lose the right to stage the fight if he doesn't stage it by June, has there been an extension, will K2 end up staging it, or will they just go seperate wats, etc etc? I haven't got a clue but I'd like to know as the fight looks a cracker.Spud wrote:Okay then your post deserves an answer - and my answer hopefully will be logical.Autobarn wrote:Obviously Moore's having 1 stay busy fight, on the Hatton undercard. BTW, more and more sources are printing the Moore vs Healy as a tune up for the European title shot. Sounds like it is a stay busy bout. I'll be watching it in hope that Moore will be razor sharp for the Baysangruov fight!

September - is that an educated guess? What is the Euro champ pulls out of a September date - youve got a wholte year wasted. Moores an excellent fighter but is he being mismanaged? Facey rematch was a hiding to nothing in everyones eyes, & didnt Moore once drop his Commonwealth title so his stablemate could fight for it and then had to regain it against an African guy? There have been some strange career choices and Im not sure it all adds up this time.
Exactly with Jamie's luck over the years a cut or new injury in a fight with Healy would be typical or his luck but not unsurprising. Would anyone really be surpised if in a years time we were still talking about Jamie's long awaited big fight finally happening as long as he gets through his next warm up fight?DavidPayne wrote:What odds a cut in one of these fights?
He can always come back to the likes of Irish title fights if he fails at European level.

Jamie Moore has one of the best managers around make no mistake on that - and in addition I would call Jamie Moore a f*cking idiot if he were ever to leave Steve Wood or Oliver Harrison.
With regards to my "suggestion" of the September date - I am led to believe that both fighters have pulled out of the fight in recent times - and from a contact at the EBU in Rome yes the fight was due to take place by June - but due to the last pull out which was down to an injury of Jamie Moore - it makes perfect logic that Moore needs a tune contest or 2.
I say this because if Moore was forced to fight the June date - I honestly believe he would have no choice to pull out of the Hatton undercard and that would mean going into a European title shot having fought last in October 2007 - where his opponent has had 2 fights this year.
Moore is in a Catch 22 situation here and I hope in FACT nope I am sure things will work out okay for him.

Don't see anyone asking Moore to leave Oliver Harrison or Steve Wood. There have been some strange career choices - which FB was right to bring up - plus an overdose of bad luck. I think a lot of us on here want to see Jamie move forward as he did in that total domination of Lujan. The guy comes to fight and ducks no one, and with that kind of attitude a lot of ppl want to see an honest fighter like him go on and win a world title belt. IMO if you have the goods and move upward, your performance improves. That sounds very basic. But when you do the opposite - i.e. stay at the same level - the opponents are improving and dragging you into the wars (Facey 2, Macklin). And you risk leaving all your best at domestic level.Spud wrote:Mismanaged ???? do not be f*cking stupid.fried bread wrote:September - is that an educated guess? BTW, what is the status of the EBU fight? Has Maloney's window for the fight closed / do they have to go to purse bids again?
Methinks Moore is through with the domestic scene. He's beaten Lujan, is the mandatory to Baysangurov (EBU champ & WBC#7) - whatever that fight's status is - and previously was after Sergio Martinez and Vince Vuma in fights to get up the WBC rankings. Would be effing great to see some of these bouts happen.Spud wrote:Now that is a fight - bloody hell might come to that - possibly sit next to that nutter in the white t shirt at the last Rhodes fight!!!twenty six wrote:Why not challenge Rhodes for the British title, that he never lost in the ring ?
Moore wins middle to late rounds - Rhodes chance is early.
Light middle has a rep as a dull division worldwide but some of those guys above are good fighters, and there are loads more on the way up like Kirkland, Angulo, Joel Julio. Showtime just love to match exciting contenders and prospects to see if any are ready for title shots. Reckon Margarito and Paul Williams will be up at 154 soon as well.

Hiya lads, just a note to clarify the situation for ya's. As you all know I'v had an operation on my shoulder and am boxing on Ricky's bill in an 8 rounder. I have been offered the Irish title fight as a warm up as well, but as yet cannot say if it's happening yet because we're waiting for a TV date from sky for the European title fight, and obviously wouldn't jepordise the Euro fight, as it's a major title and a great stepping stone to the world title. I've seen Baysangurov and he's a quality operator but I'm confident that when I'm back to 100%, which I'm well on my way to, I will have the tools to beat him. So once all the pollitics have been sorted out we will know where we're up to and what's happening. Hope that clears the situation up for ya's.

If you think that then you are fornicate_ING STUPID -something you called me by the way.
