according to someone on another forum:
amir khan was over for the calzaghe fight and he chilled with mayweather for two nights, i have got this info from a very reliable source, he also said that in 15 minutes of pad works roger outlined every fault that amir has and was picking him off for fun. roger told him if you carry on like this you would get KO'd by a C+ fighter. he also said that because mayweather had not been boxing for quite some time he had lost his rhythm on the spped ball. roger told amir he is a bit busy and does not want to train him but told him to go to floyd sr, jeff or buddy mcgirt.

I can honestly see Khan being involved in a serious shellacking by some tough, compact mexican.
The nearest fight in my mind to the scenario i forecast is that of the Amazing Alex Arthur vs Michael Gomez.
I see Amir getting a serious beating and then smiling at the camera from the canvas just like Arthur in a mix of shock / embarrassment.
He will jump up before the count and will get dropped right back down again.
Too full of beans & pride to take a knee or a full count.
After this, he might mature into the talent we anticipate - but he is a train wreck ready to happen.
This has been down to the naff match-making of his promoter.
Each and everyone of the opponents he has fought to date has had a full time job - not one has been a consumate pro - they are made up of lifeguards, mechanics, school teachers and joiners so far. With a combined KO record of about 75 (20 odd of which were provided by Earl)
The raw steel of the sword needs to be fashioned in a red-hot furnace, to become the weapon it promised to be.
Kelly Pavlik was forged in the most most dangerous of battles, fighting men he was not always expected to beat. He faced adversity and tasted canvas along the way against opponents who definitely had the capabilty of handing him his ass. There were no gimme's in his upbringing through the pro ranks.
But it was this red-hot learning curve that gave him the tools to ride out the early storm dished out by Taylor and the balls to get back off that stool at the end of round two and come out swinging.
Who knows, if Kelly was fed taxi drivers and binmen all the way to his big opportunity he could have been crushed.
Khan may have his fortune in the bank already, despite having little in his professional trophy cabinet - and this can only be a bad thing.
It would seem his whole career is planned out already. Let's steer him towards a WBO title, for which he can feed off for years and years and be the new SN cash cow.... Whilst FWank counts all the loot provided from his young, teeny bopper fan base.

I always felt that a kid as precocious as a 17 y.o. Olympic Silver medallist with talent and the range of options open to him should have went stateside to forge his transition to the pro ranks. Quality sparring, top notch tuition from coaches with the experience at top level and taking the youngster out of the inevitable celebrity bubble/top billing would have served him better.
I guess the mix of being without home comforts, his mental maturity and his ability to adapt to these things may have been a factor.
I do not want to disparage Oliver Harrison – I’m sure he must be a good trainer. But I fail to see what he had to offer that would be better than elsewhere when those options would have been clearly available.
