There is nothing insignificant about Jack 'Kid' Berg.

Tell us about meeting him.
Im glad someone asked this question, it always brings a tear to my eye when i think about talking to this guy.

I went to see the George Foreman fight in London i think it was 1990 without looing up the date. Anyway, i bumped into this little old fellow wearing brown bogues (i will never forget his shoes as long as i live). anyway, we were at ring side and the mc was introducing ex boxers and celebs into the ring before the main event. Jack was introduced and climbed between the rope to an applause. to me it seemed he did not want to get out of the ring, this old guy suddenly went back in time. he stood there waving at the crowd, it was so nice to see. It really makes me think that time goes by too fast, and once youve lived your career what ever that might be and its over, that is it. it was really a nice and sad sight to see. I spoke to the guy and he did not want to stop telling me stories, he wanted to relive his past i thought. I will never ever forget my meeting with Jack 'the kid' Berg, and his brown brogues. God rest his soul, bless him!

i dont really remember the actual conversation, but you know the drift talking to old vets, they more or less show you the stories with hand signs such as jabs and hooks. he was a canny old fella, he died not long after that.

Lennox lewis at book signing on Oxford street 1996 ( I was one of 15 people there to meet the new WBC champ)

Chris Eubanks in 2008 walking on Edgeware Road. Very warm and friendly man even tho he was i guess in a hurry. His hand felt like a huge rock.

Mickey Duff -2007 in selfridges on Oxford Street, I was buying my wedding suit and Duff walked by. Greeted me with a huge smile and than after 10 seconds said he was on his way to loo.

Frank Maloney- Little turdy schyster nuff said.

Amir Khan- Amateur show- just a kid new to it all

I met Jack Dempsey once. :TU: Everybody else just kinda fades in comparison.

But in all seriousness, I got to meet nearly all the famous, near-famous and infamous fighters who came to Oklahoma City between 1970 and 1978. The ones that immediately spring to mind: Ali (boxed an exhibition in 1972), Ken Norton, Foreman, Duane Bobick, Al Blue Lewis, Bonavena, Jose Luis Garcia, Mike Quarry, Buster Mathis, Ron Lyle, Mando Ramos, Carlos Ortiz. I knew Sean O'Grady quite well. (I taught him how to drive a car.) I saw Bob Foster, but didn't get to meet him. Boone Kirkman at a fight in Dallas. I had a quite lengthy conversation with Curtis Cokes when he showed up at the fights out of the blue one night.

More exciting for me was getting to work in the corners for some of those guys, or work with the opponent.

Three guys that I've never met and want to meet before I or they shuffle off this mortal coil: Joe Frazier, Ruben Olivares, and Armando Muniz (the latter, my favorite non-champion from by-gone days).

She's a female boxer. Your girlfriend Lucia Rijker worked her over four or five years ago.
