To be honest I don't expect much from you these days but Carl won the British and Commonwealth titles and fought guys who have been around the block. He was then due to fight a guy in a similar boat to him for his title shot.
His pre-title road is not entirely dissimilar to current Champion Joe Calzaghe, who also grabbed British and fought decent British guys with the odd foreign fighter thrown in. Only Joe did not go for the Commonwealth title, he fought those types of fight once he became title holder.
Joe looked way more Impressive on the way up then Froch has, Carl was counter punched by shot fighters and guys like Westerman and Magee at times.
He thinks he's Roy Jones with that daft style.
Autobarn has already pointed out that you are wrong there. Joe looked a little bitty himself on the way up. Froch has sparked out some decent guys in Magee and Reid.
Anyway, how can you say Joe looked better on the way up when you only started to follow him a few years ago and claim not to buy fights or watch older fights?
I saw him come through as it happened. I saw his title reign as it happened. He has never been particularly exciting style wise.

Magee Is domestic level, hardly prepares him for world level and Reid was shot who gave Froch a few problems with the counter rights. The Reid who fought Calzaghe would of destroyed Froch.

Joe does get some stick on here which is a sad, sad shame. The story of Joe is nearly over and he has achieved an awful lot whereas the Froch story is ongoing, so comparisons are premature at the moment. Can Froch win a World title and can he hold on to it, we just dont know yet, but we do know Calzaghe could and did. In two years from now we could be reading threads like "Froch, the plonker who couldnt make it at World level". Boxers become heroes to zeros on here with their achievements soon forgotten. Had Froch fought Inkin we would have had a better idear of his abilities. His amateur and pro record is excellent, and the only two things I dont like about him are his huge ego and his open style of fighting which I believe will be found wanting at the top level. I hope he does succeed and becomes a big name on ITV but I really dont see him beating Kessler if the fight is made.
