Froch V Calzaghe according to Setanta Sports News

Post by s9s »

just caught a headline, saying Froch is next in line for JC, no further details, but I think the fight makes sense, one big USA fight( I was in USA at the time and the coverage and reportage was minimal, hardly anyone knew or cared) and then followed by one big UK fight, I would like to see JC do what Hatton does not.

All that means is that Froch is the mandatory for Calzaghe's WBC belt

I would love to see this fight, but I can't see JC entertaining it.

JC is having a great time slapping old men silly; finally making use of his passport & somone is paying him handsomely for it. :-?

Why fight someone young & hungry for next to nothing, especially when you have nothing left to prove?

"Hmm. I look good. HEY EVERYONE COME SEE HOW GOOD I LOOK!"

Finally got 'Wake Up Ron Burgendy' the original version of the film. They should have blended it all into a 3-hours of brilliance.
Hey, Terry, did you download that? If so, would you feel comfortable sharing?

I would do if I had downloaded but I got it from the USA on DVD and play it on the PC hooked-up to the TV. Will ask my girlfriend as she once downloaded a version but it came in 13-minute sections.

I'll see if the one we have can be copied.
Is there a version of Anchorman I haven't seen? Please elucidate.

'Wake Up Ron Burgendy'. The original film but the test audiences wanted more of a love story type film so they kept some elements and made the one for theatrical release.

In some ways the 'Wake Up...' one is rough and ready but very much funnier. Ron is jealous of Veronica's success and decided to become a real journalist and starts his own section 'Rip Tha Lid Off A It' of the show exposing gritty stories. He lets the gang go, becomes a pariah and has to save the day. Chuck D plays a revolutionary bank robber! There are scenes you recognise and stories that are in there from the original, Baxter goes missing but we don't see the Jack Black scene, so some stuff is incongruent. It is fooking awesome though.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0423505/

The fondue scene is extended and classic and there is more of the Champ/Ron/Veronica love triangle. Including a classic Champ coming out scene! Funniest scene ever.

You've got to buy it. I swear you will be walking around your house screaming "I ... am here in my bathroom, I'm about to brush my teeth but first I must RIP THA LID OFF A IT!"
I wondered where you got that saying from on facebook. I'll order it now.

Actuallyyyy, I started of in Vegas, went to PLanet Hollywoood (one week before the fight), drove to the Grand Canyon, hiked for a couple of days, drove to LA :o , on the night of the fight I was out, caught it the next day, no report in he news papers, and little on all the sports channels, only on ESPN I caught it I think, then drove to San Fran! The sports are dominated by the big 3, I even went to a LA Galaxy soccer game, even soccer seems to be getting more interest amongst the average Joe in USA than boxing.

Oh well Froch gets made the Mandatory, not sure how he achieved that, and Calzaghe has given up the WBC title, therefore the two will not meet.

Be very very surprised if this fight came off.

It makes as much sense as an Enzo Calzaghe sentence. Joe not at the weight anymore, moved up to A-list level (in terms of marquee value, purses), just makes no sense at all.
