Haye reckons Enzo C's training cost Macc the fight

"he has a freakishly good boxer as a son, but you could get Mr Bean to train joe and he's still be world champion"
"maccarinelli's a long-armed puncher who's advised to fight in close like joe does. its unnatural for maccarinelli to fight in close. it doesn't make sense, physically, for a 6ft 4in guy like that to do it.
All maccarinellis padwork that i saw was done at close range and i thought that was a red herring - something to trick me. surely the two enzo's weren't stupid enough to think that by copying joe calzaghe they could beat me?
At one point in training, adam said to me 'if maccarinelli carries on training with enzo calzaghe, this fight is going to be the easiest fight you've had amateur or pro'. Adams never said that to me before and he was 100% right"
"its like saying the only reason mike tyson won so many fights by ko is because opponents never stuck to their gameplan. if peter mcneeley didn't get sparked in the first round, he'd have destroyed tyson over 12 rounds. what kind of bullshit comment is that?"
"enzo calzaghe didn't give me any credit before the fight and he didn't give me any credit after the fight. he said that i didn't punch very hard and that maccarinelli was twice as fast. the last thing you want to tell one of my opponents is that i don't punch very hard!"
"i genuinely wish maccarinelli all the best, but if he wants any success in this sport, i believe he needs to get a boxing coach who is willing to treat maccarinelli as his own man and work on what he possesses, rather than turn him into something he's not and never will be"

I had to laugh when I read the above. Haye makes some valid points about Enzo Calzaghe. Calzaghe snr never gave Haye any credit for his performance, which showed he was not a gracious in defeat."its like saying the only reason mike tyson won so many fights by ko is because opponents never stuck to their gameplan. if peter mcneeley didn't get sparked in the first round, he'd have destroyed tyson over 12 rounds. what kind of bullshit comment is that?"
Haye was the better man by a long, long way on the night. He sparked Enzo good & proper. That's the fact, that's what go into the results book.

Enzo and Hatton both looked very jumpy, animated, on their ways in. Haye was relaxed, like he was on Valium. I turned to my dad watching it with me and right then said "Haye does him" up till that point I was rooting for Enzo, but he had the look of someone for whom adrenalin had gotten higher priority than the gameplan
I think Enzo Calzaghe has come accross as a compleet prick since his man got beat, no contrician for his fighter lots of its not my fault gov.
Haye looks like a better fighter since he turned pro which for me shows that Booth is a good quality trainer, look how his jab has improved since the Thompson fight.
