Fox sports

Post by ra2006 »

I have quite new to Austrlia, well I arrived here from the UK in july 2007.

Since I got Fox sports I can only remember 4 friday fight nights, is this the norm??

Being from the UK there is a good quality Boxing card live on sky every Friday!!

Mate the FOX coverage of boxing is pretty poor to say the least, but we have no choice. ESPN have picked up a bit and now have Wednesday and Friday Night Fights, all be it a week late. My understanding is FOX will be televising very few live Australian shows this year.

Fox seem to be under the impression that boxing followers will watch that kick-boxing garbage.

That was a great night of action with the Irish underdog getting up over the more fancied Commonwealth Games champ in a classic 3 round final.

I thought is was a great concept, but it would not work with our heavies as we are flat out trying to get 2 to turn up on the one night, not 8 goers as there was in the Pommy show.

So far there are three programs coming up between May and July. I saw that Pommy round -robin. I think the first prize was about $A60,000 on the current exchange rate. Offered the chance at that, I think you would get a fair roll up. Sounds like one of those "Thunderbox" tournaments they have in the USA.

I have known of an outdoor dunny to be called a thunderbox. Some of those fights were of about that standard.
