Mark Breland? Albeit a not as spectacular one...

Reading this article made me think about it.

EH? I don't understand the connection you are trying to make with Breland?

An Olympian who won a world title?

A young boxer?

A guy who won a world title and lost it, only to win another?

Not sure specifically where you are making the link?

IMO, if Frank "Guides" him all the way, he will be a Calzaghe, that is, Best of the British, but not recognized as a legend by those outside Britain.. just a good Boxer.

One who pads record, fights a few big names, take out Retiring Titans and call them Big Super Wins etc. etc.

The Sooner Khan leaves SN, the better

I wasn't being an arsehole, I just was wondering what you chose Breland as an example. I didn't really get your point.

Mark Breland just seemed an odd choice of comparisson. Breland was a two time world champion, finishing his career with a very good record.

Put another way, when people say "amateurs who didn't hit the heights as pros " the name Mark Breland certainly isn't the first that springs to mind.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just wondered at the comparison.

Rhodes is a bigger puncher than Khan, pound for pound.

Khan could be many things, but SRL-Hamed he certainly isn't.

Hamed would have flattened every opponent Khan's faced inside three rounds without taking a shot.

Khan is being groomed for a 45-0 career. Which is fine, except I think Khan plans differently - the paradox is, if he leaves SN and gets ambitious in his matchmaking he'll get flattened.
