Anyone know what's happening with this tough Lightweight. He's been a bit quiet since his excellent win over Barnett in a bruising encounter. If I'm not mistaken the Hibbert vs Barnett clash was an eliminator for the British Lightweight championship.
This devision is murky enough with three fighters already believing they are #1 contendor for the crown. However, should Hibbert be the #1 contendor - the guy won an eliminator yet still hasn't had his crack.
Anybody know what's happening.

Not according to Boxing News. In their report of the fight last April it mentioned nothing to that fact. And the fight was a scheduled eight-rounder, which would have been an unusual distance for an eliminator. You must be working hard on your finals, Stu. Hibbert got his arse kicked last Saturday night in Bridgend by "Dynamite" Dean Phillips. Hibbert fought a good fight. What I can remember on Ringside was the Paul Dempsey asking McGuigan (or somebody else - long time ago) whether Hibbert deserved a shot at Vanzie. The reponse was, of course as he's won this eliminator - whether he'll win is a different matter.
I don't know if the pundit thought it was a WORTHY for elimanator or if it was an official eliminator. When I did the rankings for UKboxingpress, may "reason line" for Hibbert was #1 contendor for the British title. Nobody wrote in to say I was wrong.
