MEMO TO ANY ATHELTE WHO PARTICPATED IN THIS YEARS TRIALS:
As I've been eagerly keeping tabs on the results from the Trials and Box-offs, pulling for my favorite boxers and friends, it occurred to me that not everyone gets to win, not everyone goes home celebrating.
Your participation in these tournaments is the result of hard work, sweat, focus, and discipline. Win or Lose, you made it farther than most. Many will turn pro, some will wait for 2008, but ALL can be proud of competing for one of the elite amatuer athletic teams in the USA, the US Boxing team. Congratulation to all the participants. Amatuer Boxing is alive and well in the United States.
