awww i think this post it well sweet. we need some kids in the board. by the sound of it this fella is a 14 year old asian bad boy whos found his way to a PC.

matey, prince was good fun, flashy and a big puncher, but other than that he didnt have much skill and he took a bad beating when he stepped into world class back in 2001.

hes retired now.

Don't be so harsh on the kid! Every-one needs a hero (i'm not sure that Naz qualifies as one, but thats only my opinion. And the truth  )

As for you, kid, get yourself some tapes of Monzon, Ray Robinson, early Roy Jones or Ali.
Don't waste any more of your precious youth on Naz or it'll be gone all too quickly.

OK, I admit there may be hope for him yet. Sorry to grump - seeing a "Was Naz the best ever??????" thread first thing in the morning just starts my whole day out on the wrong foot, I guess.

Naz had a great talent which was only about 50 to 60 percent realised... what happened is that his ego took over and he started believing in all the hype and became lazy... instaed of working on and developing his skills he neglected them and became a poor trainer and then his skills began to erode, culminating in his being beaten by Barrera. After that defeat he's never really recovered his confidence or desire and has fought just once since. I don't see him fighting again, the desire is nolonger there... and when that is gone a fighter should keep away.

No he didn't, he was outpointed in a rather dull fight.

Seif, Naz is an excellent role model, hes a cool respected family man who's made his millions. He dont drink, smoke or do drugs. He respects his parents & his religion and if any kid can achieve the same,,,good luck to them!

As Mrbassie pointed out Hamed was outpointed by a P4P fighter after being too over confident.

Overhand right ,what do you mean by 14 year old asian bad boy,are you stereotyping?

I agree that Naz is a great role model.

If you're aspiring to mouth-out-of-all-proportion-to-talent-or-accomplishments wankerhood, that is. :D (Is there a knighthood for that - a W.B.E., perhaps?)

in the UK when we say asian we are generally referring to indians and pakistanis etc. which is what i meant. i think chinese/japanese are more generally referred to as oriental or summat.

I believe he's of Pakistani extraction, which is Asian, roughly halfway between the middle east and the "orient" (i.e. Eastern Asia.) The ME isn't the only place where Islam is the dominant religion, you know.
(Uh oh, I feel the hot breath of PostMortem's wrath descending on me, for again bringing religion into it. ;))

yes but seif my friend, the point is he lost the first time he got in the ring with a live opponent who wasn't a carefully selected dead man by his managers/team etc.

he did look awesome in those early fights in 92/93 though, i have to admit naz's flashy style and arrogance drew me into boxing when i was a kid too, so i understand where 14 yr old seif is coming from.
