Yes, Salt Lake City, Utah. In the fall, we should know where the 2010 NGG will be held.

Well that's good to know, Rocky Mountain is hosting the 09 Gloves. Makes my life a lot easier. I guess it has to be in Salt Lake because that's the most major city in the region; too bad it can't be in Pocatello like our Regionals are. :-?

Where? I think you want to have it in a city that has a few things to do. LOL. I'm sorry Kolya, but I had to tease you about it.

Salt Lake City sounds interesting though. I've never been to Utah.

Good skiing. But we never go there for boxing, no one in this area does if they can help it. Long story. But I'm sure we're going to put on a great show next year and even if I'm not competing I'm going to see if I can't help out-I may even be there as an official. :)

Your buddy Duran did very well at the NGG. He came on late in his bout and finished strong, but he had fallen behind early. Too little, too late. It was close, but had he started boxing the way he did in the last 2 rounds right off the bat he would have won.

The Western Trials were held at the Salt Palace in SLC last year. Great venue; lots of hotels; lots to do. I'm sure the Fullmers are behind the GG bid, too. They did a wonderful job of hosting the Trials.

Yes, the Fullmer family was in Grand Rapids for presentation of the bid.

The Fullmers own our franchise, so they're responsible for everything we do out here. They're at Regionals every year too, this year I got to meet and have my picture taken with Gene and had a pretty good conversation with Jay where he gave me some thoughts on what to do and said I was an example of why he didn't like the elimination of the 156 weight class.

Kolya, I wish we still had the 12 weight classes too. However, you are no different than my son. He only weighs 190-192 and boxes in the 201 class so he is usually outweighed by about 10 pounds. Yet, he can't get down to 178 as he would be weak trying to make that weight. Some of the guys in the 201 class walk around at 205-210 and then diet to get down to 201. Jordan walks around at 190-192. He has gradually gotten a little more muscular as his bodyfat % has gone down and his weight has stayed the same. We really would like to put on another 5-10 pounds of muscle on him.

Same here. I'm not quite as below as Jordan is, and I imagine it's much worse for him because of how strong heavyweights are. But I walk around I guess between 163-165, I weighed in at Regionals at 160.8 (hadn't eaten breakfast) and my opponent weighed 164.5 or so. It's like Jay said, he had probably been busting his butt for two weeks to make weight and I was just trying to get high enough not to be completely outweighed. I'm hoping to add a few more pounds and get to between 165-168 before Ringside and then just stay there and drop to 165 for tournaments.

Kolya that sounds good. Being underweight be a few pounds isn't all bad though. You can eat and not worry about being overweight.
