Hatton's wins were at the right time and without his stamina he Isn't that much.Eraserhead wrote:Max Molyneux wrote:Hatton's still not on a different level, he's still just an average contender too but had the right match making and money to deceive. An average contender? Average contenders don't beat Kostya Tszyu when he was top of the pile. I'm not the world's biggest Hatton fan, but what's right is right. Witter's never ever going to beat anyone in Tszyu's league. If Junior ever boxed the Aussie-Ruskie back when Hatton did they'd be searching all over Bradford for Witter's head.
Tszyu was overrated and mostly a reliant on his flat footed timed right hands and was never very active so no wonder Hatton outworked him.
I just thought u were takiing the piss when you said that Bradley won by 5 points!!!! WTF dou you mean I'm sure Bradley would have stopped him when the deduction came in, are you F**king seriousstujones wrote:No it doesn't go down as reasonable... as I said - Bradley should have been docked 1 point, maybe 2.... no more though - and I am am sure Bradley would have stopped when the point deduction came in... not like he needed to butt him.
I was taking the piss re the 5 point deduction line.

I never said it was reasonable. However, you clearly have a poor grasp of the rules of the sport, seeing as you seemed to think the referee scores the bout in world title fights.who_cares wrote:As you may or may not know a 5 point deduction would not happen as for the same offence a DQ would have already taken place!!jamesmcdonnell wrote:That isn't how it works. It is the referee's discretion as to when a point deduction is made or when a fighter is DQ'd. A single flagrant offence from a fighter can be enough for them to be DQ'd. Do you actually watch boxing?who_cares wrote: How, explain, point being that once warned every infringement would be a further point deduction until DQ!!!
The point was that, you would have noticed if you were actually watching the fight, the referee warned Bradley on 5 occasions that I noticed concerning the same offence... ie HEADBUTTING without giving any official warnings, obviously this goes down in your book as reasonable!!!
I am aware of no rule either which states precisely when a referee has to disqualify a fighter, aside from things like a cornerman entering the ring, which is meant to be an automatic disqualifacation, though even that is not always enforced.

I had Bradley clearly winning the fight by about 3 rounds and including the KD by 4 points. How a judge had Witter winning by 3 points is anyone's guess - absolute disgrace ... again.
I ought to feel gutted for Witter, but he does tend to throw in these types of lacklustre performances.
As Autobarn referred to Witter didn't have any sharpness tonight and the flashes of excellence that he inconsistently shows in spurts just wasn't there tonight. Bradley hurt him with some of those overhand rights which took the edge off him tonight. But for someone that relies on the Wincobank template of good counterpunching reflexes and speed mixed in with all round awkwardness Bradley shouldn't have had the opportunities.
It makes me wonder whether the youth required to maintain the type of style which essentially depends on reflexes and speed has caught up with the 34 year old.
Bradley looks a good sound solid fighter - very strong, good technique and deceptively fast hands for a guy with that physique.

You see alot of people have it by Bradley by 5.
I said Bradley would have stopped.... butting.... not stopped as is KO'd witter - I never said "stopped him"... I said, "I am sure Bradley would have stopped".
Although, that was more likely than the other way about.

Leija? I don't think you could call that a struggle, and Leija was decent anyway and as he was a world class Super Featherweight - he has speed on his side.Max Molyneux wrote:Well he did struggle against Jesse James.EddieShredder wrote:Max Molyneux wrote: Tszyu was overrated and mostly a reliant on his flat footed timed right hands and was never very active so no wonder Hatton outworked him.
He struggled against Leija the same way Oscar "struggled" last weekend.

I laughed myself silly when the final card was read.
Serves the Nottingham/Sheffield fans right for being such ignorant hillbillies. Who the fornicate boos another man's anthem?? Oh, that's right, neanderthal pissheads we call countrymen. Don't these idiots get it? Don't they follow this fu*king sport?
I feel bad for Witter though, he seemed far too tense and hesitant in there. Not quite sure what Duke was on about concerning Witter's calmness, he looked positively rattled before the first bell had rung in my opinion.

Why takes a risk when Corley wasn't going to be stopped anyway?Horse wrote:Witter made a clown of himself by acting like a fool and refusing to take any risks against an old version of Corley.Max Molyneux wrote:Awful yet absolutely clowned him.
Witter easily won and Corley went Into survival mode.
At least Witter has never walked onto a counter left hook and bounced Into the ropes.

right hands bouncing off his nugget all night.
floyd is top drawer.
bradley is good.
but no floyd.
No, but he did get put on his arse against Tim Bradley.Max Molyneux wrote:Why takes a risk when Corley wasn't going to be stopped anyway?Horse wrote:Witter made a clown of himself by acting like a fool and refusing to take any risks against an old version of Corley.Max Molyneux wrote:Awful yet absolutely clowned him.

Bit of a difference in levels there - and I think Bradley will be around for a while, but he isn't fit enough to lace Mayweather's boots.

Floyd Is good but most fighters wouldn't of dropped their guard for a body shot like Ricky did and try It against Floyd.hitman_hatton1 wrote:imagine what floyd would have done tonight.Max Molyneux wrote:Why takes a risk when Corley wasn't going to be stopped anyway?Horse wrote:Witter made a clown of himself by acting like a fool and refusing to take any risks against an old version of Corley.

Just because Ricky lost to Floyd doesn't mean Hatton's still on a different level, FW's matchmaking and Ricky picking shot guys has deceived many.
To put on a show for the fans. Corley should not have been considered much of a risk late in the fight.Max Molyneux wrote:Why takes a risk when Corley wasn't going to be stopped anyway?

Corley wasn't stopped by Judah or Floyd Witter doesn't have the fan pleasing style for risks. Plus taking a risk because the fans want It Isn't always right.
Not really, If Hatton was as good as he decieved, he would of known dropping his hands and lunging with body shot would of left him open to any counter hook.

Oh come on now Max, he had taken a pasting for pretty much 10 rounds.... surely desperation (he needed a KO to win) and fatigue played some part.Max Molyneux wrote:Corley wasn't stopped by Judah or Floyd Witter doesn't have the fan pleasing style for risks. and, I'll repeat... you Witter fans cannot argue about Hatton making school boy errors and getting caught.... what happend in the 6th round tonight again?

Corley wasn't stopped by Mayweather or Judah when he was closer to or slightly past prime. Witter beat him in a totally risk averse performance but worthy of taking the title. Corley went out in his next fight and gets stopped and lost a couple afterwards against unknownsMax Molyneux wrote:Corley wasn't stopped by Judah or Floyd Witter doesn't have the fan pleasing style for risks. Hatton gets slagged off for fighting guys past prime but there seems to be no retrospective equivalence and balance when it comes measuring Witter and Hatton. Only a for Witter or Hatton debate based on a general relative popularity and earnings comparison.

Fatigue was his own fault, Hatton's not technically sound and Is way too reckless.stujones wrote:Oh come on now Max, he had taken a pasting for pretty much 10 rounds.... surely desperation (he needed a KO to win) and fatigue played some part.Max Molyneux wrote:Corley wasn't stopped by Judah or Floyd Witter doesn't have the fan pleasing style for risks.
