All 11 2008 National Golden Gloves Tournament Finals Online

Post by DCAmateurBoxing »

I just confirmed with Mlive.com that they will be putting up full video for all 11 final bouts online tonight!

If you go to http://www.mlive.com/boxing here is a live chat/blog for each fight as it happens. You can ask the reporters covering the fights questions as they watch. Pretty cool.

I read before that Perez won at 132. Did Caferro or Perez win?

I'm sorry Kolya, Perez won. I got my results during the live blog and I had that one wrong.

The only bouts that surprised me were the 201+ and 112 bouts. Even though Hamer won, the California boxer came close. I wasn't expecting such a close bout. Cathron just gassed out and that cost him. 112 - Abiague defeated Lozano clearly. I was expecting Lozano to win or at least have it be extemely close.

Martinez v. Vasquez was an awesome bout. It was almost like Marquez v. Vasquez in the pros. Just an all out brawl with two guys giving it everything. I really thought it was close and was surprised that it wasn't a split decision. Martinez got the Golden Boy Award.
