I don't really know how he came to the conclusion - Did he think he was doing a good job in there, or was he getting positive feedback from his corner?
I think Dominic's face said it all when he was stood next to Witter at the post fight interview - He had the look of a man that knew his fighter was beaten on the night.

I agree with you. No way he won that fight, he fought an awful fight IMO. I'm a fan of Witter and did think he could give Hatton a tough fight but after last nights performance I think Hatton would destroy him !!The_Don1 wrote:witter lost, he knows it himself, this was his big chance to show his skills to the UK public and to show up Hatton for ducking him but he blew it, i bet Hatton was laughing his arse off tonight.
I'm a Witter fan but I'm afraid to say junior you had your chance but you blew it

I think there's a big difference between "I though I won it" and "I was robbed!". I was at no point was I convinced he actually believed he was truly hard done by. It was a difficult interview for witter as his personality is based on his confidence/arrogance which were silenced.
Swimming through his head the whole time must have been the realisation that he made the mistake of looking past his opponent and that the next few years of his life are not going to turn out like he had envisged just hours ago.
He knew he was not able to execute. (He's done it a few times and got away with it) and will blame himself.
I've just never warmed to Witter in any way, but I actully thought he did alright in the interview.

I think thats a good post. Witter has been far more humble for a while now and I was impressed that he did the interview. You are right he was looking past Bradley and couldnt see how he could lose. Is Hatton doing that with Lazcano, we could have another upset.Priff wrote:I think there's a big difference between "I though I won it" and "I was robbed!". You have to laugh at Witter, It's as plain as day he is not good enough to lace the shoes of Hatton for god's sake, ridiculous defence with that silly hand forward that does more damage to his own chances of victory.
One of the judges gave it Witter by 3 rounds!!!!!!!!
The plonker was lucky his career wasn't ended in there, no class no fight no nothing.
I'd love to see him fight Hatton just to view the massacre lol

Witter was pretty awful though - Hatton would beat Bradley IMO, and as for Witter... Hatton would have blown him away. Bradley is nice on the eye, straight lines fighter with half decent head movement; nothing that should have troubled Witter really. He doesn't pack a lot of power either, a knockdown on a telegraphed haymaking overhand right shows how poor Witter was. No combinations, no tactics, nothing at all. I think in bigger matches Witter would freeze, and all thins 'wow he stopped Harris' rubbish can now be put into perspective, especialyl against the torrent of abuse Hatton got for fighting Castillo (banging on about him being over the hill) and the loss to PBF - Hatton was infinitely more competitive up until 6/7 against PBF than Witter was all night against Bradley.
The interesting thing on this forum is that people had been completely disregarding Junior's propensity to be involved in stinkers, and even had he nicked that last night it would have been a complete and utter stinker. No wonder he sells no tickets, he even spoke with no charisma - I didn't believe for one minute that he genuinely thought he won it.
Maybe Hatton knew that all along - he'd have fought a pretty ugly fight against Junior for a lot of cash, but otherwise... where's the point?
Styles make fights, I'd not be overly surprised if Hatton Bradley is a goer (although not sure about contracts with tv etc)

I was ringside and there was literally a huge gasp as the 'split decision' bit got announced.
It was one sided fight in the flesh.
It looked a bit closer on TV but being dead honest Bradley was better in every department from agression, workrate, accuracy plus he got the knockdown.
Witter was 2nd best in all departments on the night and the quite simply, the better man on the night won.

Styles make fights - and I still believe Witter has the style to give alot of lt-welters fits .. Hatton included.
Bradley didn`t look great in there, even though I made him a v-clear winner.
You really got to look at who Witter has beaten .. and how..
Its clear he isn`t nearly as good as alot of us recently thought.
Hatton on the other hand has beaten better opponents .. only the biggest Hatton-haters could say differently
I`d never seen anything on Bradley before, but seeing him before the 1st bell I was instantly reminded of Goyo Vargas when he fought Hoko .. not appearance obviously - but the air of total confidence.

Witter lost clearly for me. He constantly loaded up with single shots and that didn't work and looked sloppy. He hardly landed a clean punch all night and I thought there were a few occasions where he looked like he could go down again.
Wonder what will happen to all of the endless threads about Hatton? That performance made a mockery of claims Hatton was scared and would lose to him. And that's not being wise after the fact. Witter's flaws have always been apparent and he would never live with Hatton's intensity.
And what fight was Duke McKenize watching???

For years I've felt that Witter had a style and the natural physical strength to beat Hatton fairly comfortably but after last night, I'm wondering if he might not have caved in to pressure of expectation.The_Don1 wrote:witter lost, he knows it himself, this was his big chance to show his skills to the UK public and to show up Hatton for ducking him but he blew it, i bet Hatton was laughing his arse off tonight.

As much as I, and a lot of other people over estimated Witter, I think Hatton is guilty of that too...Matt W wrote:Wonder what will happen to all of the endless threads about Hatton? Hatton still ducked Witter shamefully.... the fact that Witter has now been proven to be much less a fighter than we thought is irrelevant IMO. Ofcourse, the Hatton camp will now say he wasn't worthy all along.
Yeah, I didn't - never could understand why Hatton didn't fight him. I thought Ricky would smash him.EddieShredder wrote:As much as I, and a lot of other people over estimated Witter, I think Hatton is guilty of that too...Matt W wrote:Wonder what will happen to all of the endless threads about Hatton? Fair shout, I don't think Ricky saw it that way though, otherwise he'd have taken that fight at the drop of a hatstujones wrote:Yeah, I didn't - never could understand why Hatton didn't fight him. Yeah - I could see what Ricky was getting at post Tszyu.... untill the Lazcano fight. I simply cannot understand why he didn't fight Witter instead... no US TV not interested excuse there.EddieShredder wrote:Fair shout, I don't think Ricky saw it that way though, otherwise he'd have taken that fight at the drop of a hatstujones wrote:Yeah, I didn't - never could understand why Hatton didn't fight him.
