Shropshire boxer Roddy Doran today hit out at Damon Hague's camp as the Shrewsbury man prepares for his biggest fight in Nottingham next week.
Doran was due to meet Hague on March 12 for the Derby man's WBF middleweight title.
But the duo will now do battle for the WBF super-middleweight belt vacated by Robin Reid instead.
Doran is far from impressed by the late change, saying: "I have spent the last four months training hard and have been at 11st 6lbs, the limit for middleweight, for the last three weeks. "It is typical that they have moved the goalposts at the last minute but I am still confident of winning.
"When I beat Hague on points in December it was at super-middleweight and all it means now is that I will put a few pounds on.
"I had a chat with my trainer Errol Johnson and my promoter Dave Bradley and I only agreed to such a late change because they are still very confident I will win."
PS: Doran failed to mention why Hague relinquished his middleweight belt. Sam Soliman has been made mandatory challenger to Hague, and the Derby puncher wouldn't hit him with a handful of rice, so simply handed in his belt and gets an immediate chance to fight for the super-middle belt.
These WBF belts really are worthless.
