Carlos Monzon!!!
Troubled outside the ring, supremely gifted in the ring.
Ended his career at the top, as champion. A true great.

You need to go back farther than fifteen years if you want to pick a real all-time list.

This is not an all-time greatest fighters list, but these are the middleweight performances I've been the most impressed with:

Marvin Hagler (ko3 Thomas Hearns)
Bernard Hopkins (tko12 Felix Trinidad)
Ray Robinson (tko13 Jake LaMotta)
Ray Leonard (w12 Marvin Hagler)
Jake LaMotta (tko13by Ray Robinson)
Felix Trinidad (tko5 William Joppy)
James Toney (tko11 Michael Nunn)
Gerald McClellan (ko1 Julian Jackson)
Carlos Monzon (ko12 Nino Benvenuti)
Freddie Steele (tko2 Gus Lesnevich)

Anybody wanna give their own? Or critisize this one. Both would be interesting.

The Middleweight division is such a great one, probably the best one, that compiling these top ten lists for middleweight, i personally believe, an impossible task..
