Doesn't matter who Hatton fought, It's how he lost and his defence Is worse than Bradley's.
What world class fighter would drop his hands and lunge In at Floyd not knowing they would get a counter left hook to the face.
Out of your weight class against a guy who Is naturally smaller doesn't cut It either, Hatton was still pushing Callazo back too, just that his skills suck and any counter hook will bounce off his head.
Floyd's p4p ranking was given to him because Hopkins lost to Taylor.
The Witter who showed up for Corley, Harris and N'Dou would counter hook Hatton's head off, he was more focused on Ricky that Bradley.
If Junior had got the Warren matchmaking and silver spoon treatment then he would look on another level too, just the Hatton's business sense deceives alot of fans.

While I understand the sentiments you extole Max. That's just about the most one-side version of events you could summon.
Witter has put in more flaky performances at world-title level than good ones.
He's faced
Judah - etc, etc...
Lynes - disjointed
Harris - outstanding
Kotelnik - bad timing, disorganised
Bradley - poor timing, one paced and stationary
N'Dou - terrific start, stamina questions in the end and sneaked the points
Corley - efficient if unspectacular.
And this is from a big-fan.
Harris is the exceptional performance, not the standard and yes Hatton has had the benefit of better promotion, in terms of financial prosperity and risk management. But Witter has looked jaded and out of form more than he's looked in his prime.

I'd argue that the Vivian Harris knockout was 'exceptional' but the performance wasn't. It was one of those cases were a picture perfect knockout casts a shadow over the mediocrity that came before it. Witter just looked like Witter that night. He did the same stuff he always does. That night he landed the bingo punch and on Saturday night he couldn't. In my opinion, the best Witter's ever looked was the first four rounds of the N'dou fight. Even then, he quickly went to pieces soon after.

Hatton looked even worse against lesser fighters than some of that list like Maussa and Urango.
Corley was easily clowned, maybe of not got you jumping off the seat but well timed counter punching.
Kotelnik he easily won the first 6 rounds against and then Andreas finally opened up knowing that Witter won't gas out and lose, so he gave a decent try against a Witter who over used his energy.
Hatton plowed Into Maussa getting constant headbutts and gloves with head rubbed Into his face and not hard to jab against a spoiler till he KO'ed him.
Urango he gassed out after 4 rounds and resorted to hit and holding boring the crap outta me which made me decide to stop paying for his crap till he fought some one good. Only paid for It because they added Witter.
He;ll beat lazcano but because of his stamina dropping and because he threw his jab In the bin since he won a title, he'll look horrible doing so.
Yes, he has been dull In some of his fights, you've seen a motivated Witter like when he outclassed Harris and N'Dou. He can still beat Hatton as long as he showed up motivated like with Harris.
Hatton's defence Is In the bin too so the first few hooks Witter lands will make It competitive. Hatton should of stopped thinking workrate Is the kety to winning all time, too many British fighters think being fit Is all that matters mostly.

He was No 2 when Hopkins was No 1 as Middleweight champ and when Hopkins lost, he was bumped up to No 1.stujones wrote:Ha ha ha.... Thats a cracker!, its the way you tell em.Max Molyneux wrote:.

Oh shit, you are being serious.
He should of had some good wins over fresh fighters to earn It. Instead he just beat Judah coming off a loss and fought Baldomir and Is now nothing more than a money fighter.
What the hell Is wrong with you? If you remembered Floyd was No 2 before Hopkins lost to Taylor.

What this money fighter malarky that I have heard people harping on about.... the best fighting the best for a great pay day and people getting annoyed at it.
Forget the money its the best fighting the best.

He did look good as the EBU champion also.
Witter was good, but he has faded with age. The Handspeed has gone, the reflexes have dimished - the workrate is non-existent.

Calm down mate, remember, anyone, yourself included, would have lost to the best P4P fighter in Vegas - not exactly a sterling achievement - though obviously you're quite excited by itjackthehat wrote:do you guys see the difference between getting beaten in Las Vegas against the best pound4pound fighter in the world out of your weight class and getting beaten in your back garden against a hand picked opponent who no one had ever heard of????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? i wonder if this DG. fella can see the difference hahahahahahahahaha
Hatton's time will come..
Put it this way. Hopkins had a RING belt, Floyd didn't. Read into that what you will. I've been lucky enough to see Money live twice, and any person that tries to talk down his track record is incredibly biased.stujones wrote:Fair call... but me thinks it was more to do with the Gatti win than Hopkins losing.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:From memory, The Ring ratings had Floyd number 2 until 2005. IMO although Hopkins was great - I never would have placed him at #1.
I was too young to catch RJJ, Toney, Chavez Jr, Leonard etc but I feel honoured to have seen this lad in the flesh. I've never seen a better boxer live. FACT.

Hand picked opponent? Mandatory!!jackthehat wrote:do you guys see the difference between getting beaten in Las Vegas against the best pound4pound fighter in the world out of your weight class and getting beaten in your back garden against a hand picked opponent who no one had ever heard of????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? i wonder if this DG. fella can see the difference hahahahahahahahaha
The difference is seeing the final bell on your feet.
Jack, you should call me daddy!

I'm in the Hatton/Witter whatever camp. i.e I really don't think I 'nuthug' per se either man.
So from my unquestionably :) objective position I can honestly say that a couple of you are so biased towards Witter and against Hatton it's staggering. You must be related to Junior, you simply must be otherwise it's completely nonsensical.
I actually feel sorry for you.

But hand picked, he wasn't. I'm not sure if he's ever fought a hand picked opponent. He had to consider himself lucky to get most of the blokes in the opposite corner.
He might find himself more popular now he's been so exposed.
The worst thing is, I think Bradley isn't much good, to be honest.
Here here. I'm not even convinced he will beat Lynes now.Goz wrote:I'm in the Hatton/Witter whatever camp. i.e I really don't think I 'nuthug' per se either man.

Perhaps not. But he's already beaten him before. And he's getting old. To be honest, if it wasn't for Witter not making enough money to retire on, I'd tell him to pack it in.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:Here here. I think Witter is still a level above Lynes to be honest even taking into account that latters recent improvements.
But certainly Bradley has laid down the print on how to beat Witter and it doesn't look too difficult and at 34 it's unlikely Junior will be able to tweak his style greatly.
I just wish he would be busier to be honest instead of poncing around looking for the single shots. I often felt the same with Naz, he'd be so much more effective if he really got the jab pumping etc...

Show me the evidence. You are as usual talking our of your arse mate. Floyd was almost universally accepted as being P4P top dog, and the leading contender to that was Pacquaio for much of that time.Max Molyneux wrote:He was No 2 when Hopkins was No 1 as Middleweight champ and when Hopkins lost, he was bumped up to No 1.stujones wrote:Ha ha ha.... Show me which reputable publications and websites had Hopkins above Floyd at that time to back up your ridiculous statements.
Hopkins hadn't looked sensational since beating Trinidad before he lost to Taylor, unless you count beating Oscar as a sensational win, which I don't.

Maybe Floyd should of been P4P no1, but after Jones Jr, most had BHOPs at the top of their lists, the Ring included, you can debate P4P rankings all day anyway. 1 things for sure you cant become P4P no1 by beating Gatti no matter how well you do it
F ME a loss brings the haters out the closet, as for them, Witter has done more in the ring more than you can ever dream to and is financially better off than you all. (that isnt meant for the regular decent posters)

Best I can find but Hops was no doubt p4p no 1 till he lost to Taylor then the ranking was given to Floyd.
Maybe the reason why alot misread me here perhaps Is because their talking out of their rubling buttocks splattering the monitor full of shite.

Like I said elsewhere, at 34, it is Jobcentre time, buddy!
I do like reading the threads on this forum that evolve/devole into debating every last little miniscule point on a subject such as Hatton or Witter.
That is what the thread is basically about and it ends up debating if Mayweather or BHOP was p4p No 1 at a specific point in time
Whatever the fornicate Mayweather was p4p 1 or 2 who gives a fornicate?
