Tszyu Stripped Of WBA & WBC Belts?

Before Kostya fought Mitchell in the rematch was he stripped of the belts because of his lengthy lay off?

I could be wrong, but I think that was around the time they started all that "super champion" or "Champion emeritus" crap, where you also had interim title holders.

He didn't make his mandatory within the alloted time due to injuries. It was all over the WBA wanting him to fight Vivian Harris.
