Boxing legend to open sports bar
By Wiltshire Times Reporter

BOXING legend Larry Holmes is opening a new sports bar in Trowbridge Wiltshire on Sunday.

The Easton Assassin will be the VIP guest at the opening of Sugar Rays Sports Bar in Church Street.

The former heavyweight world champion, who had a record of 69 wins in 75 fights, will be cutting the ribbon at the new bar at 5pm, followed by a champagne reception.

I shall definitely be there (Trowbridge is about six minutes away on the train).

What the feck is it with old heavies & the West Country lately? Tony Tucker was down at Bath Pavilion back the other day, now Larry is going to grace the backwards baseball cap & Matalan hoodie capital of Wiltshire.

What's next, I wonder? Kenny Norton to drop by the Westway Cinema, Frome? Tyrell Biggs guest MC-ing at Thekla, down Bristol's East Dock? Pinklon Thomas to visit Marston Bigot?
