Oisin Fagan V Andy Murray in the pipelines

Hey all. This is Oisin Fagan here. I must admit, I'm not on this thing much, but I drop in from time to time to see what people (who don't usually know me) are saying about me, haha :)

All of you lads are entitled to your opinion and that's grand. But I have to say, it's very weird to be disrespected by people that haven't even seen me fight or know much about me personally.

All that aside. I am really looking forward to the Murray fight. I hope it goes ahead. He's a great little fighter and I think a fight between the two of us would be a cracker. He'd probably be the favourite going into the fight, but I can tell you, he'll know he was in a killer fight by the end of it. I'm never one to call people out or to say that I'm better than anyone else and in this case, it's no different, but expect fireworks when it actually happens.

I can't say enough nice things about Andy. Don't know him very well personally but have talked to him once or twice. Seems like a really good lad. and he's a very good fighter.

I am awaiting word on whether Verquan Kimbrough will rematch me in July, but they are dragging their heals big time. If it doesn't happen, I'll fight on the Dublin card in July. We've been promised the rematch by Kimbrough's camp since January but they keep moving the dates and telling us different things. The last we heard was 2 weeks ago when matchmaker, Pat Nelson told my promoter, "It's a Done Deal!" and then the next we hear is that they're looking for other opponents to replace me. This sport can infuriate you at times with the dishonesty that accompanies the business side of things, you know?

Anyways, since they were promising us for so long that it was a "done deal", we had refused a couple of really big fights in the meantime, because we were lead to believe that this rematch was going to be on ESPN and showcased as a Main Event, which would have been great for both our careers, however, as we first thought, we were then told that Team Kimbrough was "very weary" about taking me on again after the last time. I suppose I can't say I blame them :)

So anyways, do us a favour lads and be nice :). We fighters, have feelings too. I'm only an ordinary fella and take my sport seriously. I get very down when I hear people speaking bad about me, especially when they don't know facts or know me personally. People on this particular thread have been generally nice with an exception of one or two... If I fight badly, of course I deserve criticism, but each and every time I get into the ring, I give 110%, so if I have a bad night, believe me, there's nobody more upset about that than I am- I train too hard for that. :)

Hi Oisin, nice to see you on the boards and good post, and I'd love to see you back fighting in Ireland again, even have 1 fighter that fancies a crack at yee after a Murray fight if it transpires.

BUT please note the bits in bold and reiterate these points that you have made to Stacy Goodson. I think if you read here - http://forum.boxrec.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight= you will understand why I ask this. If Team Fagan want people to "talk nice about them" then they might want to take a look at their own state of affairs before asking for any favours.

Haha... hold on a minute- Stacy is an entity all to himself. I can't be blamed for anything he posts on here. If he wants to say something, he'll say it :)

Seriously though, when me and my pal Barry (nafianna) came across this site last year, we registered on it together, but I hadn't much time to get on it much. He gets on most nights and lets me know what's being said, but he doesn't know Stacy personally and the first thing he said to me when he read one of his posts was, "This American Clubfighter guy seems to like you", and then the next night I got a call and he said, "Hmmm, actually I'm not sure if he likes your or not- you get a lot of stick because of him" Haha.

Naw, Stacy is alright by me. He's done well by me- got me some confidence-building fights and now I feel like I can handle myself in there with anyone in the world. Not saying I'll beat anyone in the world, but I'll fight them and give them a good go- I'm confident in that at least.

I apologize in the fullest if I’ve said anything out of turn, I’m probably one of the main people here shouting for Murray, but I would be the same behind any Irish fighter, obviously people fighting Murray is an exception to the rule however if you are fighting on the bill on the 12th I’d be right behind you. I totally realise how annoying it must be for people shouting there mouths off on message boards like this when they A) Don’t know you and B) Never seen you fight. Hope whenever you do fight Murray it’s a good fight and both of you show your worth, which I’m sure you’ll do. Being a Murray fan I hope he prevails!!

That's no problem man. I have no quarrel with someone who is vociferous in support of a boxer they know, or have come to know through watching him fight.

Since I've been away from Dublin for the past 10 years and since I didn't take up boxing til I was almost 30, no doubt I'm not very well known at home in boxing circles. Out of sight, out of mind, or what have ya.

I only had 3 amateur fights in Dublin- came up the hard way in that sence and was thrown in the deep end in the early part of my career but when I got a bit of confidence, I started to believe I could do some things and for my past 15 fights, the only 2 losses I've had were at the hands of former world champs on their promoters cards on SPLIT DECISIONS, with many people thinking I did enough to win, especially in my last big one for the USBA title V Verquan Kimbrough in his hometown. The Paulie Spadafora fight was another one that most people thought I should have got the nod in too though.

However, I'm back for good in the summer, so I'm gonna try make some noise of my own at home.

Hopefully it will start on 12 June and then with the Murray fight in Oct. I'm just looking for a fair crack of the whip.

McDonagh is forever pulling out of fights - I am sure there will be a substitute in place from the beginning.
