Audley or Skelton being lined up to face Samuel Peter

Post by Fernzy »

I’ve agreed terms with Don King for WBC heavyweight champ Sam Peter to fight at London’s O2 Arena on July 12. In the opposite corner will be either Matt Skelton or Audley Harrison. I’m holding talks with all parties over the weekend and will make an announcement on Monday. Ironically, Harrison beat Peter in the amateurs and was considered the better talent when they went pro. Watch this space.

Have to say it will be disgusting if Harrison gets a world title fight.

I know its not going to happen.

Most deserving of the Brits on RECENT form is Danny Williams - not that he is deserving either.

does anybody give audley or skelton a chance?

I think Audley skill wise had the potential to beat Peter, but he is a shell now and lacks the confidence to win Peter, although the amateur win may
help him get some sort of confidence or edge mentally against peter,
but in reality, I see Peter ko'ing him.

I'd prefer Audley to get the title shot. It would be more interesting.

Skelton would be better but if Peter is looking for an easy one then it must be Audley.

Even in his last fight, Audley looked like a startled rabbit when he was clipped by the guy in the 4th round. he would be scared of Peter's supposed power before they got in the ring.

At least we now know why King was over here speaking to Warren. Wasn't Campbell after all.

I'm sure we'll get Arthur-Mitchell on the card.

If I were Frank, I'd personally try to get Skelton in with Peter and Audrey to take his place against SSS.

Does it matter at all that neither Matt or Odd are even ranked in the WBC's top #40? Guess not.

I think this is a decent fight for Harrison.

Peter will chase him all over the ring but Peter is not as good as a fighter as I first thought.

I think Peter is a bit chinny, having said that, Peter wpts 12.

What we need is Williams, Harrison, Sprott and Skelton to face each other for a change.

Exactly, how a shrewd businessman like Fwank could miss this opportunity is beyond me!

It's in Warren's column.

Undeserving challengers whether Skelton or Audley gets the assignment.

But it's an event alright.

Audley Harrison? :o

Is that some sort of late April Fools joke? :o

Even Skelton probably doesn't deserve a shot at Peter, but at least he is not an embarrassment & he's certainly ahead of Harrison in any potential pecking order!

To be honest, it sounds like a pipe dream to me.

I can't see their mbing much appetite to see either Skelton or Harrison fight Peter.

Skelton is tough but very limited; & not that great to watch due to his rough-house tactics & not even Audley Harrison's wife wants to watch him fight; so it's a non-starter for me.

Surely it would have to be Skelton because Audley isn't ranked by the WBC.

I back Stu all the way on this one, it would be disgusting. Why do you find that so hard to take on board?
