FightNews was informed Tuesday by both Terry Trekas, co-promoter of Nate Campbell, and Eric Gomez, vice-president and matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, that the highly anticipated bout between WBO/WBA/IBF lightweight champion Campbell and WBO interim champion Joel Casamayor would go to purse bid. WBO president Francisco "Paco" Valcárcel notified Trekas and Don King (co-promoter of Campbell) Tuesday afternoon that Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer was willing to make the fight between Campbell and Casamayor.
