Setanta looking sh*te now.......

Post by whiskey »

http://sports.setanta.com/en/Sport/News ... /Post.aspx

Just check some of the angry comments on the bottom of the page.

People are NOT impressed with the potential fights we could have yet are served up the Warren turds..

Why not screen Mijares vs Munoz saturday night? wheres the Chageav vs Valuev rematch? or Edwin Valero vs Perez ?

Or the Michaelezwki vs Ottke fight next Saturday even ?

Looking rubbish :-

I'm disappointed the output has dropped as well, but a few points:

Mijares-Munoz is on The Fight Network on Sunday night (21:00, sky channel 427)

Chagaev-Valuev has been postponed, as far as I'm aware.

DM-Ottke is off, due to lack of interest.

In this year alone, they've done way better coverage than Sky and Itv put together still.

To be honest, we're approaching a quiet season now.

Is Quintana v Williams 2 on SKY?

Yep always does but the next Boxing investor never learns. When they eventually split -a few years down the line- with Warren i wonder where he has left to go to! The BBC?!

I would like to know whether the "exclusive" nature of the contract means that nothing but SN shows are featured (therefore, no US broadcasts unless co-promted by SN), or whether the exclusivity is restricted to UK promotions and Setanta can continue to broadcast live feeds of US shows not related to SN.

I think the BBC are still shy after the Audley con.
Fwank is well known - except to setanta - for offering primarily `prospect v journeyman` contests. he started off well for Setanta - but it was pretty obvious that was the carrot.

Doesn't the exclusive just mean that Warren is exclusively tied to Setanta, not the other way round?

How can you say Setanta is shite when we'll be getting all these super featherweight world title fights?

Bunch of ingrates.

Setanta are free to show anything they want - they are not restricted in any way to showing Warren fights. Warren has to put all his big fights on Setanta, is all it means. Thankfully.

Let's hope they pull their socks up soon then as the schedule doesn't look too hot.

PS, is it just me or was the broadcast quality poor for the Calzaghe-Hopkins (quite fitting for such a sloppy amateurish fight). Is this so Warren can release it in lovely quality on DVD?

You never know, with the clear picture, we might see all those 200 and something clean punches that Joe supposedly landed!

Thanks for the clarification. And I agree the broadcast quality was poor for the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight. I also thought it was poor for Woods-Tarver, especially in comparison to the Sky broadcast (Marg-Cintron, Cotto-Comez) on the same night.

Yeah, I thought Calzaghe v Hopkins had been recorded on BETAMAX!!

I read somewhere that Pacman Diaz will be on Setanta, but they haven't updated it yet. Also no-one has picked up Williams v Quintana 2 or Miranda v Abraham 2 yet.

PR tour only started Monday so will be a while yet before it's confirmed with TV stations. I reckon early/mid June we'll know, but I won't care cos I'll be there. Whoop whoop! :box:
