So Frank wasn't being at all premature.... From Fightnews:

"Dino Duva, promoter of WBC heavyweight champion Sam Peter, has denied a claim made by promoter allegedly that there is a deal in place for Peter to face either Matt Skelton or Audley Harrison at London's O2 Arena on July 12th. "I am stating that as of now, there is no deal," Duva wrote in an email to Fightnews. "I am working on different options right now for Sam for July, and a fight in the UK is one of them." He also wrote "If there were a deal, it would be done and announced by Duva Boxing." Warren said he reached the agreement with Don King, who also owns a share of the promotional rights to Peter. Stay tuned..."

I was actually surprised that Duva mentioned the the UK is a serious option - even if it hasn't been agreed - maybe its happening?

Why is Skelton not worthy? Only 3 months ago he went 12 tough rds with the #2 or 3 in the world.

Skelton has proved he is class, and a fair option for a VOLUNTARY defense.

It would be awesome if he went from Sprott to beating Peter!
It would be a miracle ranking alongside those in the Bible. World HW champ Audley Harrison FFS.

I think Audley skill wise had the potential to beat Peter, but he is a shell now and lacks the confidence to win Peter, although the amateur win may
help him get some sort of confidence or edge mentally against peter,
but in reality, I see Peter ko'ing him.
The pro game is so so different. AH just hasnt made the transition successfully.

Nice one if it happens. Rogan to win by stoppage.

Can you imagine if Aud actually did get a shot..! We'd hear various rants from Ol' Aud in the build up (more than ever) and goodness knows what he'd have to say if he won..! Self-Promotion would reach new heights...

Though I cringe at the thought.. I'd watch on with interest!

Sam Peter is down to fight on 12th in UK on the boxrec schedules.

Still TBA - I know Boxrec can sometimes be premature - but its often pretty accurate.

I don't think it will be Audley Harrison as I think he will be built up carefully in order to hopefully get a shot at David Haye. If Frank's telling the truth, then I think it will be Skelton.

A foulfest between Skelton and Peter for the WBC title would be an awful spectacle.
Matt comes across as a nice bloke but I can't stand to watch him "box", neither deserves a shot but for the good of the viewer lets see Audley get stopped again.
I agree with 99% of this; I just don't want to see Harrison get stopped again; he does not belong in a boxing ring & is better off retired.

Absolutely agree. Furthermore he always fights to win. What he lacks in skills he shows in heart.

I would rather have Skelton who has guts and fights to win than Harrison who has the skills but seems afraid to do battle with anyone. Skelton wouldnt be the first brawler to win a title. What Matt Skelton lacks in skills he makes up for in heart and going 12 hard rounds with Chagaev shows he deserves another shot at a title shot. Lovely man as well, but dont ring his wifes mobile, he doesnt like it.

I can see your point in respect of Skelton, but do you seriously believe that Harrison is worthy of a world title shot? :o

All the aforementioned names are better than Audley Harrison; he is a total joke.

Is this really going to happen? Supposedly it was going to be officially announced last Monday.
